I love Heroes, I still haven't seen ep 18 on purpose, cos I think it has a cliffhanger ending. I can tell by the trailers anyway, so I'll watch 18 and 19 together tomorrow. I can't wait, and Episode 17 was so satisfying and excellent. A whole episode in the Bennet residence. Wow. I liked 16 as well it was interesting. Oh and on Sci-Fi, I did re-watch "Homecoming," cos it's my favourite episode. I just love the bit when Sylar cuts Jackie's head open and when Claire knocks him out. Oh and in 3rd place is when Eden confronts Sylar and says . “You don’t want to hurt me, sleep now.” and the Haitian comes from behind and covers his mouth. Oh and for Sci-Fi viewers u must watch tomorrow's episode: "Fallout." It's one of the best in the Season as well. The end is so... "What happened?" * An important character dies*

Because they have TV shows with seasons that are 22 weeks long. Whereas we Brits have TV shows with each seaon lasting 13 weeks. Both takes 9 months to make, which means that the yanks are still making theirs when they start showing the programme. So they need the break otherwise the air dates would be before the ep is finished making. This is the reason why we Brits used to have to give the yanks a 10week headstart before we started showing the same season. Now instead of waiting 10 weeks at the start, we have to have a 10 week break in the middle, just like the yanks. All beacsue of the internet.

sometimes they put a new show in that timeslot to see if it has legs.

They put the break on new shows to see if the rating warrant actually finishing the series(like Fire fly and Crusade, the figures were bad).
Soem shows are nowing being shown with out(24) due to fan compliants and ropping figures. Battle star will be shown non stop enxt year after a 2 hour movie and will be shown 1 week later over here.
smallville, ahs the most haphazrd shedule of almost any show ever in the states.

The figures for Firefly were not bad enough to cause it`s axing. Other shows with far less viewers got renewed. Firefly just didn`t fit into any niche. It wasn`t just a sci-fi, it was a western as well. It wasn`t just a drama, it was a comedy as well. If it had failed purely on it`s ratings, then it would nevre have been made as a big sreen movie. Serenity, in a sci-fi magazine beat the last star wars movie as most favourite sci-fi film. This little snippet of news even made the newspapers a couple of months ago.

Whow there Nelly, the initial viewing figures in the states were bad, compaired to other programmes in the time slot factoring in how much it cost to make. The figures from non-domestic veiwing(ie: Europe, Australia, etc) were extremely good, but that means nothing in the states(the only time this has helped a series was B5). As were the DVD sales, but by that point it had already been canned. The film was made on the back of the dvd sales. I like Firefly, infact I'd go so far as to say its far better than buffy ever was, but it got canned cause of its INITAIL figures making it was not profitable to continue. The fact that it was so many genres should have ment that it should have had a larger percentage of the viewing figures, and on repeats this was proven to be the case, but by that point it was too late. There are a lot of tv shows with much lower figures that do get renewed, but they are at such demanding time slots. I'd love to see a new series of Fire Fly, but its never gonna happen. Neither is a second movie any time soon, if ever. Just be glad Josh is going to continue it as a comic for the time being. Any way, Heroes has been renewed and some of the actors/actresses will be coming to London in September for the London film and comic-con which should be good

Back in the 60s there was a show that was cancelled due to failing viewing figures. The fans created holy hell and the show was recommisioned for two more seasons. since then it has spawned 4 spin offs, and 10 movies. In the 80s there was a TV series called Fame, again the americans canned it due to failing viewing figures. This time the fans in the UK kicked up a storm, and got it renewed for another season. What about Farscape? also canned. But the fans created again, and resulted in The PeaceKeeper Wars two part movie. And it`s JOSS not Josh.

Uh huh, dude, calm down and stop flaming every thing. You'll be alot happier.
Any ways, I though this was a thread about Heroes and not a pissing ground for "who has less of a life so I have to fill it with watching TV and knowing useless trivia"?
PS please read with a heavy dose of sarcasm. Lifes too short.

Not flaming, dude, just pointing out that the claims you made to back up your opinions were not complete. And the thread is about Heroes, but most threads in here usually take a little detour once in a while. If you don`t like detours, don`t open up off-ramps.

Sadly the viewing figure for bbc will prolly not be fantastic as the region 1 dvd's will be available and season 2 will prolly have just started in the states. The bbe is sooo slow some times. Then again look at E4 and Smallville.

You never know, perhaps the BBC will show season 2 straight after they show season 1. At least Sky 1 cannot steal it from BBC this time.

Well it is currently being shown on sci fi uk so technically they could steel it off of them :P
But seing as Lost is still earning higher ratings than Heros, stateside and here it prolly wont happen(admitadly Sci-Fi does have a much a smaller demographic and subscribers than Sky 1/fox).
