Didn't we say that at the start of the thread?! So looking forward to it. It should be totally cool.

Seventeen days to go! Seventeen days to go!

Saw a clip of it on the news and the effects looked crap (I know they always were but there's no excuse now). It was all really badly done CG explosions and stuff. Will give it a go though and see if the acting makes up for it. The girl in in looked suspiciously like Billy Piper which also makes me worry.

Well said Mickey
Ranger Elenopa,
You can get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you can with just a kind word.

Among other places, and if the effects are as bad as I think they're going to be then I'm certainly not going to wait for it with baited breath.

I've been waiting with baited breath for years! It'll be good, Abs. Really, really good. Screw SFX - if they're all that's important, go watch some crap Hollywood movie, with a massive budget and no story. And wait until the Daleks in episode six! And Captain Jack in episodes nine and ten! You'll love it! (Mickey is very excited).

Yeah, but acting is important too and they actually picked, on purpose, Billy Piper. Like I said, I'll give it a go but I don't think they've put their heart and soul into it and it wouldn't surprise me if they've cacked it up

You don't think they've put their heart and soul in it?! Bloody hell, Abs! You should read RTD's column in Doctor Who Magazine. Believe me, hearts and souls could not be in it more. Apparently Billie is a very good actor. I can't comment as I've not seen her act - I just know her as a crap pop star - but I'm staying optimistic. I totally know what you mean, but they really have tried. Anyway, Captain Jack is going to be cool enough to make the whole series worth while on his own. Shame he's only in two episodes as it stands.

Fingers crossed it all goes well. Will be watching.

I've seen it! Na-na-na-na-na The effects are not that bad, although I don't know if it was the final version I watched. Certainly the effects are miles beyond anything we would have seen in the old series. The story works well as an opening episode; just enough information on the Doctor to explain him and the TARDIS. A nice fast paced opening episode, amybe a little too fast paced. Some very funny moments, and some scary moments too. To quote a friend, "It doesn't suck."

If you saw the naughty leaked version, then no, it's not quite finished. Naughty Elenopa! And thanks for the positive review - helps to put a few worries to rest! Fourteen days... Or thirteen days, twenty one hours and forty minutes...?!

My friend had it and offered to play it on his six foot high screen. How could I refuse.

A six foot high screen?! You couldn't really refuse, no! You'll have to watch it again on the 26th, though, and see if it's any different.

Apparently not. The one little bit of gossip they've ever printed in Doctor Who Magazine!

It's usually just gossip about Daleks. Which one of them was carrying on with Davros behind everybody else's backs. Woo, five minutes to CSI.

only 10 days to go!

What time is it on Saturdays? Won't they miss a lot of audience because of people going out? A lot don't bother with the old recorder.

7pm. If you don't tape it it's your look out! Saw a trailer for the first time yesterday, and I'm so excited! They're looking for the family audience, Abs, so people going out is less of a concern I guess.

Do families actually watch telly together? Mine don't! Nobody likes the same stuff. I saw an advert for it last night. Was better than the last one I saw. Am curious to see what it's going to be like, plus it would be good to have one programme on Saturday that I want to watch, seeing as though at the moment it's all unadultarated cr*p.

My family has never watched TV together either! But apparently some families do. Unless it's another of these Urban Myths!

I think it is. I can think of no worse torture than tuning into my favorite programme while my mum goes, 'what on earth are you watching? Do people actually want to see this rubbish'? All my step dad ever watches is sport and the news.

Whilst we won`t all be able to sit down together and watch Doctor Who, the whole family WILL get to watch it over the course of a few days - depending on work patterns.
******************************** John Smith: So what am I then? Nothing. I`m just a story.
Doctor: You`re an echo. That`s all. A TimeLord is so much more. A sum of knowledge; a code. A shared history. A shared suffering. Only it`s gone now, all of it. Gone forever.
