The Cybermen aren't really like the Borg anyway. No collective mind, for starters. They do like cybernising the rest of the universe though, so I guess there are similarities.

Is it just me or do the boots look really naff? cyber blokies bootsOther wise quite a good effort really. I wonder what a 21st century Sea Devil would look like?
|
| |
|

|
I would hope that a Sea Devil would look as cool as its voice sounds. (And that it wouldn't be wearing a string vest ).

Well... the Cybermen consider their cybernising to be upgrades of the flesh that came first... so who knows just what they've upgraded and how?! Who knows what lies behind a Cyberman's codpiece, or why it should need to be locked within a steel trap. Or maybe it's just a vacuum cleaner attachment, like Kryten's.

Thanks Mickey. needed the laugh. Just had an extremely stressful phone call to the MORONS who are supposed to be organising my son`s student loan. They`ve already admitted to c*cking up, but instead of correcting their mistake their end, they`ve sent YET ANOTHER application form. Thye won`t speak to me because they don`t have his written permission to talk to me. HE can`t phone them because his phone company has cut him off. Without his student laon which was due in Sept, he has been unable to pay for his accomodation, and his landlord is getting twitchy. I KNEW I should have paid for his rent, not his tuition fees. I can`t afford both. I just want to go AAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!. I thnk I`ll go raid the fridge for some comfort food. AAAAAAAARGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mickey, some advice please. I want to buy a couple of the Paul McGann Doctor Who Audio disks (they`re going to be from my daughter to me for chrimbo). But there`s so many to choose from. Now, are they stories that are read, or are they like audio episodes with actors? Can you recommend some excellent stories?

They are full adventures, performed by actors. Which to recommend is a little awkward though. I have them all, so I can speak for all of them - but different people differ, and fans argue constantly over which are worth listening to more than once. Personally the ones that I enjoyed most were probably Shada, Storm Warning, Stones Of Venice, Invaders From Mars, Chimes Of Midnight, Caerdroia and Terror Firma. Shada is the infamous Tom Baker story that had to be abandoned due to BBC strikes. It was restaged for Paul McGann's Doctor, and is written by Douglas Adams. It features Romana and K9, and co-stars Sean Biggerstaff, who melted ten billion teenage hearts as Oliver Wood in the first Harry Potter film. Storm Warning is the first McGann audio, which introduces Charley Pollard, his first companion. Stones Of Venice is almost universally popular, set on the day that Venice sinks into the sea. It co-stars Michael Sheard. Invaders From Mars is based around the infamous Orson Welles broadcast, and fans are split fifty-fifty on how good it is. Chimes Of Midnight is something of a ghost story, and again has about as many detractors as it has supporters. Caerdroia is one of a series of stories when the Doctor and Charley (and new companion K'rizz) are trapped in another universe. I think it's fabulous, some people hate it. The Doctor is split into three shards of his personality, and Paul McGann acts his little socks off. Terror Firma is a fabulous adventure with Davros set immediately after the Doctor's return to this universe, and is pretty much universally adored. That any help?

Will anybody be watching?! We've been counting down the hours since about October, Bala. It's not actually half an hour, though, despite what so many of the TV guides are saying. It's less than five minutes long, I think. Four hours and twenty-two minutes.

I'm currently enduring Status Quo, so that I get to see the little flashes of David Tennant - can't wait to see it I was thinking about reading everything that I've missed, but that'd take waaaaaaay too long, so sorry if I'm repeating loads of stuff. I'm guessing there's been a lot of excitement about Torchwood (stupid anagram, but it has Cap'n Jack so whoo!) The first time I heard about it there was quite much squealling Talking about Mr Barrowman, I saw him in A Few Good Men (mmm...Rob Lowe....) Anyhoo, he was so great, especially when he got angry *drools* I was the only person cheering during his solo bow though :S which probably didn't make the best impression with my Psychology teacher I was sitting next to :S:S:S Oh, and Mickey would make a much better Billie replacement than Michelle Ryan! Oooo...Chris Eccelstone doing voice overs for CIN
