I got it recently as the only viable way to get Channel 5 up in the Highlands.

Radio stations are great.

Biggest problem with it is that More4 and E4 are not available on it (c/f FreeView) and there is no planned date for them.

120 TV channels bu only about 12 worth watching.

Highlights (for me) are Homicide Life On the Street (ITV4) and Andromeda (ITV3)

Thanks guys! Much appreciated. Have decided to get it as my BBC1 & 2 are naff where I am! ITV & C4 are perfect but the bbc reception is naff especially if the weather is bad.

Bummer about E4 & More4 but if I can get perfect picture on the BBC1 etc and the ITV & C5 channels it'll be ok with me.

Thanks again.

My mum has free sat, keeps here entertained, but when i go up there i keep swearing at the sky guide thing trying to find channels that work, i dont know if its possible to hide the channels which she cant get, i havent really looked into it. If you cant thou it will take you ages to change stations

My sister got it. When you pay the £150 you get the standard package. You can upgrade to get the other channels. It's such a bummer that E4 is with Freeview.

I agree with the comment about the Sky TV guide it is a complete mess.

Easiest way around it is to set up favourites on the Sky box - by selecting channels that you can get and might have something worth watching - not a long list for most people.

Then by pressing the blue button on the Sky remote it cycles through your favourites showing you what is on now and what is coming up.

I like the Sky guide. I find that channels I don`t normally watch can still have a very interesting programme on.

Other family members just go through the favs when searching, But I go thru everything.

The problem with Sky Freesat and the Sky TV guide is that the guide displays all of the channels that you would get if you subscribed to all of the Sky packages.

Freesat only gives you 120, so if you use the Sky TV guide and select a subscription channel you get a "you have to subscribe" message. V annoying!

why is it annoying?

After a couple of days, you`ll know which channels you get, and so won`t be clicking on those channels you don`t pay for.

Are you living in Halls?

Or will you be in your second year where you live out?

If you`re going to be living out, you could club together with your co-sharers and get full sky. My son currently lives in a 9 bedroomed student house, and each student only pays £6 a month and they get the complete package - Entertainment, movies and sports.

Well I was in halls this year but will be second year and move out, but there's only going to be 3 of us, and we're in a flat and I'm not sure how viable it is. Plus we have individual TVs, not one main one, so i don't know how viable that would be. It's a thought, though. Oh and there are a lot of good stuff on Five - CSI, it showed Stargate Atlantis, House, Grey's Anatomy.

Agree with Dr_Greene04 on Channel 5 and would add to those listed:

The Shield, Alias, Dark Angel and the now defunct Boomtown

I agree Kalam, I forgot to mention Shield, Alias, Dark Angel and Boomtown, which was really good.
