several years ago channel 4 had a show about an up and coming rock band (think it was set in Edinburgh?!)and I cant remember the name of it!!

Nope, im sure that there wasn't any well known actors in it at the time. I think it was around '95 or '96 tho.

Was it factual? If not could it have been Tutti Frutti with Robbie Coltrane?

The main bloke from Young persons guide is now on a tv series on itv, damn can't remember the name now but it's a medical drama about flying ambulances (not literaly, i mean the helicopters lol)
