Like Serenity rose out of the ashes of the cancelled Firefly series, so The Peacekeeper Wars rose out of the cancelled Farscape series.
It was because, I believe, that Farscape was supposed to have been granted permission for series 4 & 5 together, so the makers made a 2 season story arc.
But then suddenly someone pulled the plug on season 5 at the last moment, and right in the middle of the story arc. So the Peacekeeper Wars was made to tie up the loose ends.
The original set of Moya was dismantled the day after they finished shooting on her (even though the final filming of season 4 was still continuing).

Doctor: You`re an echo. That`s all. A TimeLord is so much more. A sum of knowledge; a code. A shared history. A shared suffering. Only it`s gone now, all of it. Gone forever.
It's strange that Farscape is one of those little-seen or completely misunderstood sci-fi series. Most people who have only seen a few episodes or just the trailer seemed to think of it as muppets in Space. However it is one of the most innovative, creative and wonderful science-fiction series ever made.
Where Farscape succeeds over its contemporary rivals such as Enterprise, Voyager, Andromeda and Stargate is that it is largely a character based series with great writing, character development, fantastic story telling, amazing special-effects (for a TV series) and stars who can really act. It is also based series based at adults with some dark storylines.
i loved farscape wen it was om=n the telly but they stopped putting it on last one i saw was criton and eran got nuked but and alian. i loved it wen the ship gave birth tho
Hey Mr Grump Gills You know what you gotta do when life gets you down?
I have to admit I never watched Farsape, though I was aware of what it was (eek sorry guys). And whilst I only caught the last half hour or so of last night's episode, I have to say i enjoyed it, and am now one of the converted. A little late granted, but still.

Amen.
It's a shame that this version was cut, though. It was only 3 hours long rather than 4, and lots of scenes were missing. They weren't cut for violence or anything like that - I guess that a 3 hour version was produced for those TV channels that didn't want to show all four hours or break it into two parts.

I'm afraid not even that Jenna aka Callie I recorded farscape pressing the pause button for the adverts and the news break and the timer at the end only showed 2 Hours 20 min , so as usual I wasted my time it's been cut to shreds

Place 'Babylon 5' instead of 'Farscape', and that statement is still true.
Ranger Elenopa,
You can get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you can with just a kind word.

While it has been cut to shreds your only missing 40 minutes or so. Farscape peacekeeper Wars is roughly three hours long with no adverts breaks. When it was originally aired in the US and on Sky it was shown into parts of two hours each including adverts breaks.

Yes I agree with that as Babylon 5 is my favourite science-fiction series fairly closely followed by Farscape, Battlestar Galactica 2004, space: above and beyond, and Firefly (not necessarily in that order).

It's great to see new people appreciating Farscape and you're in for a real treat whenever you start watching season 1-4. Belittle patient first half of the first season as some of it isn't quite up to the usual Farscape quality. Although it's definitely much better on second viewing once you know and care about the characters!

Note to enterprise producers (and Star Trek in general) this is not only how to end a show but Farscape is a prime example of what a quality show is!
I missed a lot of Farscape series 3 and 4 but have watched (bought the DVD) Peacekeeper Wars - and thought it as an excellent close to a really innovative series. Anyone know whether the complete series 1 thru 4 are due to be issued as a complete box set? I've persuaded myself to wait rather than get the separate sets but my patience is waning. Though not as much as my bank account would be.
Have just got / watched Serenity. Very very very good. My top 5... er 6 (order varies according to whim!):
Babylon 5 Farscape Stargate SG-1 (haven't seen enough Atlantis yet) Firefly Battlestar Galactica (current incarnation) and the creakingly old but excellent for its time: UFO (Gerry Anderson from the 70s)
I'd go with Babylon 5 being number one. I'd put SG-1 above Farscape personally. Never got into Firefly but I'm starting to. Battlestar Galactica is gradually increasing in my estimation.

sorry dont know! Farscape boxes were stupidly priced on the high street - £99 it would cost, ive found series 1-3 around £50 each on the internet. you would have thought the price would have dropped to a respectable £30-£40 each by now, it's on my TV series to buy list on my computer (along with 35 other tv shows )
