"amaican police have confirmed that Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer died of natural causes and was not murdered, as they stated earlier."
link

I think this whole thing has been really bizarre, firstly telling us he was murdered when they obviously didn't know for certain, then 3 months to ascertain that he died of natural causes.

"But Pakistan's former captain Imran Khan said he was shocked there was no apology to the national side.

He said Pakistan's cricket board should sue those responsible for the "humiliation that the Pakistan team went through

The BBC's Andy Gallacher in Kingston says this is an embarrassing U-turn for the Jamaican police.

He says the news conference was an attempt to shift the blame for the errors in the case onto the original pathology report.".

They will be telling us next that Jack the Ripper was greatly misunderstood.

I hope this has nothing to do with getting the life insurance.

Personally, I'm not convinced that anyone cares enough about cricket to cover something like this up.

What a crass attempt to hide the horrid truth? Woolmer was strangled as evidenced by the broken bone in his neck. Two tales have been released.
1, that the bone was never broken. takes quite a bit of hand grease to get that one off the ground.
2, The bone was actually broken during his autopsy. Now that is a bit easier but still only fools those wishing to be fooled.

If you think this is just about cricket you need to learn to think less narrowly and start considering the larger picture.

As for Pakistan getting an apology, talk about adding insult to injury.

I assume you mean the Pakistani cricketers and not the country as a whole.

The Pakistani team were interviewed as were everyone else staying at the hotel and everyone else who had contact with Bob Woolmer just before his death.

They were not charged with anything, and they were allowed to leave Jamaica quite soon after the event on completing the interviews.

Why single the Pakistanis out for an apology from the police? Others were interviewed.

The Jamaican police should have kept quiet until they were sure about the cause of death. Thats obvious. And perhaps a general apology is due.

You might also consider an apology is due from the media who pushed the police for information, and then fed the rumour-mongers with all sorts of wild speculation. Not much chance of that though.

Fine. Enlighten me as to the reasons why Scotland Yard would want to cover this up.

Scotland Yard are an arm of the British Government, the British Government has international interests and concerns. I'm you can join the dots for yourself - it's not exactly rocket salad.

I think the apology should come, but for different reasons. The Police made the Pakistan team think their coach, who they all clearly got on very well with, had been murdered shortly after his death, which would only upset them, for that at least there should be an apology.
