I agree but when you dont have much and you're daughter is missing .....doesn't that go by the by. poor little girl ........and sadly there are hundreds nay thousands out there like her. If my child were missing I certainly wouldn't want cameras in my home - would you?

What does it say about the people who watch the programme? Or the programme makers? Arent they just as 'careless'?

I didn't watch the programme, I forgot it was on. But I do find it hard to understand why they let the cameras into their home. Surely it was only ever going to be shown after Shannon was found so what help was it going to be?

There's something strange about the whole case, the programme is just the tip of the iceberg.

Yes, like you said, it's not called morbid curiosity for nothing.

Well ............... I do have morbid curiosity on all sorts of things - always have had. I grew up fixated on the Holocaust simply because I really couldn't believe what people are capable of. If that lumps me in with the likes of Shannons family (according to you) so be it.

Programmes are made for mainstream TV to create revenue and therefore gain maximum viewers. I'm guessing I wasn't on my own watching .................didn't realise that I was actually paryt of the problem.

You learn something new on Ch4 News forums every day.

On the contrary .......I was really hoping to get something positive out of all the bad press. Sadly I was proven wrong.

Nothing positive at all?

I didn't watch so cannot point to anything myself but find it hard to believe there was nothing positive to be found from the whole thing.

Actually no - nothing positive at all. Heart breaking stuff to be honest. Perhaps you should watch the programme if it's repeated. If you haven't actually seen it ...........how can you comment?

well as this thread is directly about the programme on Ch4 it would help if you'd watched it. but obviously your mind is already closed.

You mean towards you, the viewer?

Really, I do disapprove of the whole judge and jury aspect of society, esp when facts are not even in the public domain.

Sorry ....it is you who doesn't have an open mind. You have entered a thread about a particular programme and judged people accordingly. Had you have actually watched the programme it might have carried some weight. You didn't because you're obviously above watching this sort of thing.

Dont judge me ..........just like you I have opinions .....and I'm commenting on a programme that I actually watched. If you can't lower yourself to watch it - how can you have an opinion?

well I did wonder! in all seriousness .......and I'm not having a dig - how can you comment? Believe me I wanted to see something positive - it was abysmal. can you not accept that there are families out there who live lives beyond any 'normal' persons comprehension? it wasn't right and no PC correct person is gonna tell me otherwise.

no hard feelings - I'm happy to agree to dissagree (but you're wrong). watch the programme yourself and see.

Maybe you should wait until someone who watched it can come on and agree with you.
