Hi everyone,

I am new on the site, so be gentle.

I wonder how many of you saw the program "Make me Muslim" on channel 4. If you have then you might be deluded that one can be made into Muslim.

This is not quite true, because Muslims are born Muslims. The word Muslim mean Submission, and there are Submitters in every religion, race, and community.

Islam is not strict way of life like this program stated but a gentle and loving religion, which teaches kindness, humility, and love.

There is no Sharia Law in the true Islam, Sharia (Laws made by some Mullah's based on Hadith & Sunna books written 200 years after Muhammad died about Muhammad from hearsay and conjecture).. The Only book followed by True Muslims is the Quran.

Unity of All Submitters

[2:62] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in GOD, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.

Regards

Not all Muslims are born that way. As with all religions, the born-again and converted are by far the most zealous.

There are obviously many muslims who think that muslims can be made.

quote:
On Sept. 5, APMA stated, Tabasum went out late one night to buy some loaves of bread. She was reportedly abducted by her former neighbors and two other men. According to APMA, "They put a piece of cloth soaked in some intoxicant on her mouth, after which she fainted."

When Tabasum regained consciousness she found herself in Bibis house, where three men reportedly including Babar Bibi, raped her.

Tabasum was reportedly told that by Perveen Bibi that she could be "saved" if she embraced Islam and married one of Perveens Muslim brothers.

According to APMA, "On refusing, Sara was beaten badly during captivity and shifted to another house ... where five persons raped her. She was repeatedly asked by Perveen and other men to embrace Islam and recite (the) Islamic creed to save herself from the misery. Perveens husband Babar even told her that they (had) killed her brother Suleman, and her mother (had) also embraced Islam. (With that in mind), it would be better for her to become (a) Muslim now, otherwise she could be killed or made (a) ?prostitute."

Tabasum refused to renounce her faith and embrace Islam, APMA reported. She was subsequently taken to another house, where she was reportedly assaulted by seven people.

Welcome to the forum Ijaz.Do you think that converts to Islam are not true Muslims. In my view Islam is not a geneology but a belief system and if i chose to embrace that belief system would i not become a true muslim?.I say that i would because there is no blood tie from one muslim to the next.

pretty racist view that.

none of the original muslims where born muslims unless one takes the view everyone is born muslim and some choose to cover that up by living a life of denial?

Typo, was meant to be Hindu Red Face . You cannot convert to Hinduism, you have to be born into a Hindu community, notably a caste system.

But Hindu's aren't strict about who they marry or about converting anyone to their faith. It's not a requirement. Many faiths have branched out from it too.

I suppose you could be born pre-disposed to zealotry, but no one is born religious. Other people imprint that on children.

I agree, therefore a zealot would be so no matter what religion they were brought up with, surely?

Could be a political zealot even in the absence of religion.

Or an atheistic zealot; None-the-less a pain in the behind no matter what doctrine they follow.

"Atheistic zealot" doesn't really mean anything. It's like saying "a zealot who doesn't believe in dragons".

Zealot can mean fanatical can't it? Religious zealots have a thing about god but atheistic zealots just get fanatical about not believing in god.
