Jo Brand always raises a few laughs for me, I think she's fab. Vic & Bob when they did 'Big Night Out' were just brilliant.

Surprised how many times Peter Kay pops up here (or is that just me). I'd say Bill Bailey, followed closely by Ross Noble, Dylan Moran, Daniel Kitson ..

Billy Connolly.

I agree with many names mentioned so far, but I'd throw this one into the mix; Milton Jones, very, very funny.

Currently, Rich Hall. Eddie Izzard frequently pops back up though.
I saw Bill Bailey (on stage, not just walking the street or anything) last night & he was very good.

Bill Hicks. Before watching some of Bill Hicks' footage, I thought Billy Connelly was the man, but now without a doubt I have to say Bill Hicks!

Gotta be Eddie Izzard and Bill Bailey. I really wish that Eddie Izzard decided to carry on with stand-up rather than going into films - I think as a result his heart wasn't in the last couple of shows and they were a bit lacking. I've not seen anything come close to Dressed to Kill and Glorious (and bits of Indefinite Article)......except perhaps Bill Bailey's 'text messaging' song... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Very glad to be back home: both literally and spiritually "Just because I feel sick everytime you come near me doesn't mean I'm not glad you're not dead!" "walls, thermometers, it's an impossible choice. I'll just have to hope that when I flip the coin it somehow explodes and kills me!"

Ricky Gervais is the defining comic of our generation and definately the best. Chris Morris(who of course doesn't do stand-up) is also hilarious. Larry David is one of the funniest men who ever lived.
Peter Kay,Tommy Tiernan and Dylan Moran are great too.
