Swearing every so many words isn't comedy. Repeating the same jokes isn't comedy. Trying to milk the sterotype of asian/indian families is no longer comedy.
If you ask me, if this show was around 2/3 years ago I'd be voting for something else, but it has to be bad show - I haven't laughed at a single thing, nor have all the people surrounding me or those I am speaking to online.
Two thumbs down.
Give it a rest its only just started and its the 1st ep so give it a chance and it might improve!!!!!

You do realise that the opening shows generally should try and make me want to watch more, not make me turn the channel?

After how many shows am I allowed to start to form an opinion? Is it so unreasonable to start with the first episode if I think it was so bad?
I am 'clever' enough to know my own tastes. The spark911 rightly pointed out the first episode should try to hook the audience in, for me this didn't. It was so devoid of humour that I can honestly say that I won't go out of my way to watch it. If I'm in and there is nothing else on I may check it out in the future.

No they haven't you can't discount an entire section of society because of this one show.
Would you say the all British programmes/films has had their day based upon a single show? If so the British television ended in December 1960, thats when Coronation Street started and I hate that with a passion.

Well my uncles aren't in it but I gave it a chance as the trailers for it looked interesting. I'd like to see more comedy that had a different take on life, a new perspective and I though Asian writers and cast should be different enough. But it wasn't, sadly it was unfunny and a bit boring.
I understand that some comedies take time to develop but this is the weakest start to a new comedy that I can remember. I hope that this was just a glitch as there isn't enough cultural diversity in the typical, white-British middle class set, sitcom.

asian comedy has had its day? explain? so we are only allowed certain types of racially specific comedy are we? How narrow minded that you cannot see beyond the colour of people's skin. it may be a shit show, but let it be just that: a shit show instead of a shit asian show. and forgive me, but can you highlight a single stereotype of asian-ness the show pandered to? not another sikh man in a kilt! yet another Indian dad who loves country and western! yet another welsh asian waiter! actually, now i come to think of it, it's like every other asian show on telly...
Couldn't understand it at all. What's it about? Except a bunch of amateurs making themselves look idiotic instead of funny
Ham acting, lousy script, confusing tacky ideas, too much unecessary swearing (though that seemed the only credible and recognisable thing in it!) not funny at all!!
I am Asian, I live in Glasgow, I'm very familiar with the Restaurant trade, this nonsense bears no comic relevance to anything it was portraying, even the football.
It was getting increasingly embarrasing to watch!! Fortunatly for the writers and actors that this was not live theatre or they would have got lynched for insulting everyones intelligence.
I think the writers should go into hiding or better still take themselves and their pretentious and self proclaimed 'talent' to some far flung independant former part of the Soviet republic where they might get a laugh.
Channel 4, I thought you couldn't stoop lower than Big Brother, I was wrong, congratulations this is your LOWEST!! You seem to revel rolling about in sh*t

clearly you haven't been to the theatre lately. and do you want your comedy to be realistic? isn't realism drama and comedy a heightened sense of the real? and just cos you're asian it doesn't give you taste...
I wish people would stop pointing cameras at Asians and going: 'oooh they are so funny' they ain't.
As for the Kumars...dont get me started, totally overrated.
They have as much right to have cameras pionted at them as anyone else!
I personnally don't think that Catherine Tate is very funny - but other people do. Just because i don't enjoy her programme doesn't mean she doesn't have the right to be on telly though.

Thank you! I am sick of tokenism! Channel Four should be renamed the Asian network.
You dont have to be talented you just have to be asian

Please get Jen out before I put my foot through the television, Thanks.
Sanjeev Kohli is brilliant as Navid in Still Game and it's great to see him getting a chance on something else.
Watched a program about Scottish Language in Comedy(think it was on BBC Scotland), found out that he wrote the sketch about the Ned selling the "Sport socks, 3 for a pound-a" on Chewin' The Fat.Quality man quality.
If you see this series as a drama then it works but if these guys are trying to put edgy comedy into it then it's as funny as 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' meets Arthur Askey.
I've only seen one episode but it seemed more fun than funny. I liked the Waynes World style singing in the car. I thought it had alot energy but didn't find it that funny. I was expecting something more like Tandoori Nights but this was completely different like Indian men behaving badly without the women, I thought some good female characters were one thing it definitely needed.

Well said Eminem. Comedy should only meet the approval of the one who finds it funny.
