I think Max and Paddy was a bit of a limp squid. The characters were hilarious within the context of Phoenix Nights but somehow the spin off series was a bit too far fetched to be funny. I would love to see a spin off series about Jerry though. His character had much more potential IMO.

Max and Paddy in prison was my favourite episode.

Sorry to say guyz but there wont be a second series of M & P. I read an article in the newspaper and it said Channel 4 turned down the second series because of poorer ratings than pheonix nights, peter kay thing etc. Peter Kay is said to be working on new material tho.

Oh well, never mind. Peter Kay & Patrick McGuinness are both immensely talented, whatever they come up with in the future will be top-knotch!

I think they should do a spin off comedy about Jerry, the hypochondriac club singer/host...that would be class!

Yeah, that would b ace, Dave Spikey is xcellent, v. underrated. I saw that comedy he did, bout the newspaper, with Jonny Vegas. Can't remember what it was called, but holy mary was in it too!

They should make more of them. The best comedy in ages.

Just got the DVD Road To Nowhere through the post this morning, in it there's an advert for something called
Max & Paddys The Power Of Two, coming in 2006, with the tagline, Getting Fit Has Never Been So Much Fun.

The only problem is, is that you can't tell if its something new for next year, or a spoof.

hi all. sorry about this one. there is a big band tune on phoenix nights series one, the last episode, right at the beginning when jerry st clair is comin out of hospital. it sounds a bit like glen miller but im not too good on big band/swing. any help with the name and artist would be very much appreciated.

Its like with Phoenix Nights for example. they set up a second series because the club got burned down so the best way to end it was by seeing Den Perry getting just what he deserved at the end of series two.
The only thing I can think of to end Max and Paddy would be for Tina and her son to get back with Max.
I think a good comedy show should have two series at the most.

I think that they should do more series and they should be nominated for a tv awards
