Much anticipated amongst my bunch, and was not dissapointing.
First half went at a cracking pace (well, relatively) - script superb and acting likewise (Liz Smith just wonderful. Must be quite a thing to play that part at her age - like a dress rehearsal). Got a little sentimental in the middle, but this was Aherne setting the record straight.
She cares for these characters, and that somne viewers/reviewers had failed to appreciate the love that existed beneath the bickering in the earlier series has obviously played on her mind. This time we were left in no doubt.
She is certainly a mercurial talent, but her exquisite writing as shown in RF puts her in the same company as Victoria Wood and Alan Bennett.

Has anyone ever known a family like theirs where it takes about an hour to say hello to anyone who dares enter their house?
I thought the show after it was quite good where Noel Gallagher said most people who watched didn't know it was him singing the signature tune.
