Please, if you haven't seen the series yet and are waiting for a BBC2 broadcast don't read on.
I was just curious to know what everyone else thought of the second series of Night Night as a whole. Although it wasn't as good as the first series, its still been one of the funniest comedies of 2005. Julia Davis is most definitely a comic genius and her character, Jill Tyrell is an absolute ruthless monster. My one gripe is that (whilst the first series was very dark), this series was a lot sillier.
The last episode was great though last night, with Cathy going to prison, Jill escaping with Don, and the whole lot of them finally realising what a beast Jill was, when she was confronted on the cliff. However, unlike most comedy, I didn't come away feeling very cheerful.
Oh and one question, who was the corpse on the cliff that lay in front of the police car?

julia davis is a genius and angus featon is also really good
Josh I'll have to stop you there. You're wrong in the head and the world wasn't meant for you. The show is not "frim and surreal" nor is "J"ulia "D"avis a genius and you're way off about featon. It has been stupidly over hyped by BBC3 in a desperate fashion as it seems to be the only comedy they’ve that appeals to the majority of Joe Public and so called TV critics(Whilst neglecting other more deserving shows) To call this or the other underwhelming series "very dark" or "surreal" makes it apprent to me that you only watch programming that falls into ether Allo Allo or catchphrase driven drivel such as Little Britain categories. What little merit the first series had in my eyes has been completely pissed away by this garbage.
And Josh I can't help but believe that somehow this is all your fault.
mr gollly, did your parents die in a car crash when you were younger or were you just bullied????? you don't have to answer that but this you do. What comedies have you watched that doesn't get over hyped?????? They all get over hyped. Nighty Night was praised and possibly over rated but im sure anything else you watch will have had the same done to it. But yes you are right there are comedies that are under rated and desever more praise. I think the whole 'reviewing' and 'rating' is all a bit phoney. Some people find different things funny. What do you find funny?
I'll tell you what I don't find funny Lou, your attitude. What noncesense are you spouting about everything being over hyped? I'll tell you what, if you’re so sure that everything I watch has been so highly lauded then where is series two of Mad About Alice eh? Where’s my DVD Box set of Love My Neighbour. AND WHAT IN BLOODY HELL HAPPEND TO ACORDING TO BEX EH. I tell you what Harold when you’ve written letters to the Guardian begging to get them back on air and you can walk down the street dressed as a Nazi THEN, THEN I’ll tell you what I find funny BUT IT'S SURE AS HELL NOT YOU DARCY.

Great series all the same.
