Since the first season was a success, Ugly Betty seems to have started getting a bit stupid and self-indulgent in this series, including product-placements for musicals like Wicked and a movie called 27 Dresses. Never having heard of the movie, I looked it up and there is such a thing, due for release in 2008. Ugly Betty doesn't need to do or stoop to childish paint-balling episodes. I think its taking liberties with its loyal fans by doing such things. I shall continue watch, hoping it gets less stupid, as well as much funnier.
I agree that a lot of shows do this in the second season... once the fear that the show won't be renewed subsides, they think it doesn't really matter what they do because they now have their fan base and their assurances. I hate that.
