Apart from the infinitely superior Royle Family, which preceded it by three years.

Noooo... Not the same at all... The 'uncomfortable humour of the office wasn't the same as the Royle family... noooo.

My favourite original and also my favourite comedy show of all time is the Goodies. I'm seeing them in Adelaide on Nov 25 2005. Cool Well two of them anyway.

A fan of Mike Walker!!!!!

that very quote could kickstart the reformation, if the band is more of a clique. and then the newbies might get a little scared again

It's not time for us to re-form yet. We must continue to incubate quietly until this whole rubbish year is over...then prepare for global world planetary domination in 2006.

Something like that, anyway.

you're making it sound like some kind of seedy underworld.

actually, that's probably a pretty accurate description for some!

I was thinking more sinister zombie/alien/vampire (or zombie alien vampire) invasion, but seedy underworld is just as good.

I remember it too. It was quite funny, but the problem was that his life was soooooo frustrating, it made me stressed to watch it!!

Has to be Peep Show, for obvious reasons.

"The Office" was preceded on television by "Operation good Guys"-BBC, "the Larry Sanders Show"-HBO,and the hilarious documentary on a "modern office" in "the day today"-BBC.You can a similar sort of treatment in the film "This is Spinal Tap".
I've never smiled or even felt uncomfortable watching "the Office".It seems that it is the same predictable gag repeated ad nauseam. One of the character does something ,apparently, stupid and embarrassing, and the actor opposite is just stupefied into silence. It always botches it laughs, and is lacks the necessary realism or subtlety to compensate.
In short, "The Office" is a great premise for a comedy let down by Ricky Gervais' woeful script.A great many people in the world seems to disagree, but I stand by my opinion. Smile

Did I count as any of these? I've been busy for the last 2 months or so (partly illustrated here by my tardiness) & hadn't even popped in to see what anyone else was up to.

And I will vote to make posting this worthwhile...

'What's her name and that bloke' must mean those two who had the long running all over the forum flirtation. How could I remember that?-I spend too much time in front of this computer screen, I need to watch more tv.

The list didn't refer to anyone specific, however, you're one of the people that I'm always glad to see posting.
