I won;t get into it all but i find him unfunny and lacking talent..but whatever, thats an opinion and you can all cough up a lung shaking fists and hissing another time.

TODAY i'm talking about the trailer for his new movie when he and that other guy ( you know the fat one from god awful Hyperdrive) play gun totting British policeman.

I saw the ad while waiting to watch Snakes on A Plane ( best movie ever- B-movie-tastic) and they show a shot of a police station blowing up.

I'm not the most politically sensitive person when it comes to the fictious world of comedy but considering the time we are living in does anyone think that this is a little too close to a possible reality.

I found the image quite disturbing myself- it wasn;t edgy it was scary and recollecting it now even worries me slightly. I think the movie is irresponsible it doesn;t matter if it was before whatever event or circumstance- they most likely were writing/adaptingfilming it while the present conflicts were unfolding and so have no excuse on that front.

Did anyone see it and whats you opinion...

Not seen it yet but I want to (now prompted to search the web). Simon Pegg has never done a bad thing in my eyes.

You can't criticise fictional plots for being close to real life - that's frequently the point, why would we choose to watch things that are completely unrealistic all the time? And bad events will always happen around the same time as they're fictionalised. That's why the BBC et al occasionally reschedule shows when something happens in real life that might seem insensitive.

Filming/editing had finished before the plane threats so the only thing they could have done differently is not put that scene in the advert. And knowing how film ads tend to be that was unlikely to happen if it's an effective scene.

Anyway, I've not heard of any police stations being blown up in the last few years.

anyways..yea i appreciate that but the use of socially harrowing imagery used to be relegated to times outside the most present of dangers.

I know no piolice stations have blown up..IN THIS COUNTRY..but why do they choose to make a movie about something that is possibly imminent..the threat of domestic terrorism is a reality..i dunno i guess its consumer choice i personally will not be giving them my £6.50

hate is a strong word.. i dun hate them.. i find their work peurille and not in the fun way...so i hate their creative produce would be more accurate then saying i HATE them... i don;t hate Simon he's a great guy ...and very intelligent!

I don't know i try and stay away from My Family..it brings me out in hives ( the tv show not my actual family..though christmas is..testing)

i like lots of things...guy that said that and i can;t be bothered to look for his name...OFAH,Red Dwarf, Family Guy, Some Mothers, Scrubs, Seinfeld, Rising Damp, Brittas Empire ( character-wise not always story)..lots of things

If you like Ricky Gervais post the office your an idiot. Extras is a bad bad....BAD copy of Seinfeld series 3 ( i think) where he makes a pilot of his own show..then also a terrible copy of Curb Your Enthusiasms punchy critique of social citicsm..its sooooo poor it makes me cry our of patriotic shame.

I know i know they're not flashbacks they are in scene abstractions, same difference.

And Jimmy Carr...i think i've said enough about jimmy Carr on this forum for it to be revised and condensed into a small booklet of dissent to be circulated amongst the "movement"

We need some real comedians in this country who are more concerned with the art of making people laugh than the theory of making people laugh or the pomp in calling it an art in the first place.
