I'm trying to see if I can drum up support for getting C4 to repeat an eighties sitcom that I really enjoyed. It was called "Chance in a Million" and starred Simon Callow and Brenda Blethyn. The premise was that Callow's character is a very nice guy who's whole life is subject to the most unlikely things happening to him and his girlfriend Blethyn all the time, as though fated. It's a bit like Victor Meldrew except Callow's character is entirely affable rather than old and miserable. IMHO it's well worth a repeat if only in the afternoons, being superior to a great many sitcoms spawned before and since, and has oft been ripped off (i.e Victor Meldrew).
Anyone remember this show and would like to see it again just post to say "Aye!" here - let's try and make 'em listen .
Oh yes, that was a good show. I'm old enough to remember that and I don't believe it's ever been repeated. When you think how sucessful the lead actors have become, it's strange that it hasn't been shown again before now.
