Oh, he's real - he's been around a while on a website called www.fat-pie.com - dude who runs the site is a bit cool, and has a cult flash animation called Salad Fingers (v disturbing, but so so so good)
The makers actually interviewd another guy, but he was a drug-addled nutjob, and they were too scared to follow him round - proper unstable...
No he is not real he is one of David Firths friends (David Firth is the guy who runs www.fat-pie.com and makes all the flash animations on the website) and the "drug-addled nutjob" Captain Shev is referring to is really David Firth when they started the chav videos
Devvo is funny for about the first five minutes and then the idea gets tired. There are only so many times you can laugh at a fake chav swearing and talking shit.
Can't see it going any further than an Internet fad, especially considering that they wasted the TV opportunity by putting out a rehashed version of a few of the Internet videos. They made no attempt to develop the character at all!
