I thoughourly enjoyed nathan barley. It satarised a certain section of the population to a tea and was well jackson in the process!
It had some great moments, like when barley was rapping to Clare when in bed with her: " heading down south, south with me mouth. Soon i'll be showing you my awwahh face"! hilarious.
Whatever some critics have said I still believe Morris to be a genius and would love to see a second series. Any thoughts?
It did not do too well in the ratings that's for sure. I just want to see Morris writing and directing comedy again. It can be savage when he's on form. He does only seem to do one series of each project, so you're probably right
I doubt very much even if they did try and make a series two it would be nearly as good as series one as you can only take the characters so far and lets admit it they were getting boring at the end of series one I was just disappointed that nathan didnt get together properly with claire!!!!
of course, channel 4's always been respected for not being afraid to go a little left of field - i don't think ratings have ever been the real issue
nathan barley absolutely nailed the fashionable, 20-something audience - whilst alienating and confusing pretty much everyone else - instant cult classic, and that's a success for chnl 4 whatever way you look at it
i'd love nothing more than a 2nd series - although it'd have a lot to live up to - it would be great to see brooker and morris team up again... esp with charlie condou, nic burns, ayoade, fielding, etc.
another thing i've noticed is how many ppl seem to have got into nathan barley this year!?! it's definetly a grower, and i loved it first time round
