Question:
I'd like to say stand up because Lee Evans is my favourite comedian but I prefer to watch a good sitcom. What do you think?

Choices:
A comedy film
A sitcom
Stand up comedy
Other (do tell)

You shan't. I could. You wouldn't. I would. You wouldn't. I wod. You wodn't. I hod. You hodn't. I nod. You nodn't. I cod. You codn't. I did do. You didn't do. I do. You doodn't, now look away, I'm... You peed. I peedn't. You ped. I pedn't. You pedant?! No... I... you pedant! No. Yes. No, take it back. No, you take it back. No, take it back. No, you take it back. Take it back.

a comedy film, I love TV but love films even more

and even the best sitcoms - GW excepted - are never as much fun or as memorable as a really good comedy movie.

look at how many people still adore Withnail and I, which must be at least 20 years old...

GW is the excption of course, because it is as brilliant, memorable and quotable as W&I, and will be loved forever...

Isn't it interesting how almost everything is in some way related to The Main Theme?

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE EDIT FEATURE???

I doubt I will still be treasuring Green Wing in 30 years like I do Fawlty Towers. But then again I dont have a slightly worrying obcession with one of the actors Wink

As to the poll, I think I like 'em all and don't want to choose between them Big Grin

It's a difficult one.

Stand up tends to get old quickly. You see it once & then there's never anything new.

Sitcoms tend to last longer than films and have different stories in each ep so the good ones are always worth seeing again. Plus you watch them a bit at a time.

In the classic films you notice something new each time you watch it - no matter how many times you've seen it, e.g. Life of Brian. But you have to devote a chunk of life to it & it's generally only one story.

Am glad you didn't include sketch shows.

I didn't even think of that one! The only good sketch show I know of is Monty Python, all the rest are repetitive b*llocks.
I chose sitcoms mainly because of Red Dwarf, I can watch it over and over again and never get bored.

I'm going for sitcom because of Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf and Blackadder. But I don't know if I'd choose a sitcom if Eddie Izzard was on the other side.

Just you wait..in the year 2036, people will be paying tribute to all 7 seasons of GW as one of the most brilliant shows ever to hit the airwaves, and marvelling at the incredible youthfulness and still-handsomeness of it's amber-haired star.

You mean the life president of the European Union elected by an adoring electorate in 2031?

I sure he could do a better job than the shower we currently have in charge!

As an aside I know several people who voted for Tony Blair 1st time round just cos he was 'hot'
Smile

Yes, that's the man I mean, the ultra-liberal PM with the most charming smile.

Maybe Blair is nice-looking for a politician, I've never yet seen a man in the world of politics that I could think of as hot.
