anyone watch extras xmas special and think ricky gervais used the character andy millman to let us all know he doesn't like britains celebrity culture, im a massive gervais fan, but only laughed a couple of times during the show and found myself slightly annoyed by his constant slating of celebs, it doesn't take a one and a half hour rant from ricky gervais for me to know chico and lionel blair are washed up. I also went to see him in live stand up and it was no better than ok, i just feel he should stick to writing hilarious comedy (office, extras series 1) and keep his thoughts on the world for his own time
hey, i didn't think the xmas special was as good as i thought it would be, i laughed at a few bits but nowhere near as much as the office or the other extras. I also got my bf his latest stand up for xmas and although some bits were really funny it wasnt as good as his others, and i didn't really like him avin digs at dawn french coz i like her lol
I do still like Ricky but i am starting to wonder if the office just came along at the perfect time, just one of they programmes that captures the mood of the nation, everyone was getting sick of crappy shows with canned laughter and cheesy characters, although it was well written, but since then extras was quite good with some hilarious bits, but i felt its too much just Gervais giving us his opinion on life.
No he hasn't lost his touch, and anyone who thinks he has, simply misunderstood the joke.
I'm just wondering why Stephen Marchent hasn't married me yet. I'm sick of him closing his curtains and locking his door. It's almost like he doesn't like me.
if any of you enjoyed the office, or extras, you should watch curb your enthusiasm, same type of humour and cringworthy moments, a lot of ricky gervais stuff is taken from this.
