Copyshop directed by Virgil Widrich is a gem of a film - a wonderful film. The film is fun in terms of its theme/content - the evolution of the photocopied character over the course of the film, but it is a compelling viewing, where the music and the evolution of the photocopied character draws the viewer in to this completely impossible and fabricated world. The image as a composite image and the break through into the image - the mechanism of image making is art at its highest. This film is really important viewing for anyone interested in experimental film and more importantly in those interested in the possibilities for the film image....
Luc Besson was the perfect architect for a film of this nature. Be sure that if this film was made by another director then the emotional barrier would not have been in sight. Instead of this film being a shoot- em- up we actually find a story of love and pain. Besson has a certain way of directing if you have seen his previous 'Nikita' and picturesque 'The Big Blue', he has the ability to bring more depth into an average film. Leon is played by the entertaining Jean Reno (Godzilla, Ronin) and he perfects the role of a lone Italian hit-man lost on the streets of New York. Gary Oldman is quite superb as the psychotic cop and is pivotal in raising the tempo of the film. Oldman is truly brilliant and would steal the honours if it wasn't for a young Natalie Portman. Just as Jodie Foster made her breakthrough in Taxi Driver Portman conducts herself wonderfully as a youthful daughter of a drug seller seemingly unloved by her family. The only love was for her unfortunate younger brother whom is unintentionally shot dead by Oldman's henchmen. This I must say was prominent in showing the way love is torn away and then found again; Mathilda (Portman) finds a father figure in Leon whom at first is reluctant to accept her-a hindras to his identity. From her though they both gradually form a strong bond that is not stepping over the line, it is simply a love almost unconditional as referring to Leon taking the place of her father. The film itself is shot to perfection, violence is kept relatively low though still keeping the tempo and pace flowing. This action film soon succumbs the viewer into actually admiring and appreciating leons work; "no women no children" is a philosophy that Leons boss must keep to. And not only this Leon is always assigned to deal with criminals, which in return isn't too bad. The reason this film is so good is for the fact that you really feel sorry for Leon and the finale just enhances that sorrow. In all this film is a must see not only for it's slick storyline and entertaining acting. A must see.
They mostly come at night..................................... mostly.
Any film with Demi Moore or Nicole Kidman...but the real person/s would be ok, yes, just ok. Nicole is starring in the film 'Birth' at the old picture house - and in 2005 a film called 'Interpreter' if i is right. lol and goodbye

Just watched 1990 film, Ghost, again, Demi Moore, known as gimme Demi to all the film producers. Still a very likeable film today, not to be missed. Nicole's new films look to be an interesting watch.
Barton Fink...one to watch....on saying that, i cannot remember the last time i saw this film and what it was about. Although i remember a few scenes...sort of.

This thread seems to be about everything BUT what it was intended. Arn't we supposed to be saying HOW we review a film? Actual reviews can be posted in their own thread. Just wondering.
When I started posting here, there was already a bunch of reviews up. So I just followed up with some of my own, I never actually thought about looking at the first page.
This was one of the better film by Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler, the story was amusing plus i never laughed as hard as i did. i really enjoyed it not that i expected to actually enjoy it but it really did suprise me.
Lucy (Drew Barrymore) chacter really was excellent, i never thought she could pull of a comedy role but she did which really surpised me, she actually made me laugh but other actor not sandler was really amusing, can't think of his name at the present moment.
7 out 10 ------------------------------------------------------ I-ROBOT
A will smith flick, i really like his films so i really enjoyed it this one as he was only lead hero in this film, There were some good one-liners which i thought made me smile.
The robots, Sunny, that was intresting concept but i am kinda of glad she did kill him that was unique but i really enjoy seeing the robots killing each other. Rest of them were ok and favourite scence has to be in tunnel where robots jumped all over his car. Vikky was intresting concept having a computer start a revloution but is just me or has that been done before.
The robots were just quite stunning to look at. FX were reasonable but it had too much will smith in it i realise he main lead but still.
I really enjoyed this film but it could of been so much better if partner him with a robot, this film could be much better and certainly intresting.
However the film is quite good and fact that Will Smith has metal hand really was a bit over-top personally.

Rock and roll.
yep same here but by looking title your film reviews kinda of suggest that place where we can put our reviews.
i am not sure what to make this sequel, it can't match the first one, this sequal broke some superhero rules such as revealing identity 2 times in the public, i mean now everyone knows who spiderman including Mary-Jane and Obsborn son. The suspense is gone so i don't know how spiderman 3 is going work.
Basically this sequal is set 2 year from the first film harry osborn is angry at spiderman killed his dad. Peter Parker is stuggling double life and quit being spider until doctor occpus kidnaps Mary Jane. peter relationship Mary-Jane is awful and after finding out his secret decided to be with him, really 'go get them tiger' has to be amusing line at the end.
The bad guy Dr Occopus, was convincing as the bad guy, his tecticles were impressive and the way he slammed Spiderman into building look painful but the Director took a small risk which could make this film a lot worse which was adding comical element to action film, usually this wouldn't worked but i got to admit it actually worked quite well.
Personally, i was disappointed with sequal but it was lacking story-line of first film.

Sequels should never aim to match the original, it should aim to better it in as many ways as possible.
Spidey 2 spoilers ahead
When he unmasked in the train, I seriously doubt everyone will know that's Peter Parker, you probably would have heard someone mention something if that was the case.
The suspense isn't gone...
Could we see the return of the Green Goblin?
Could we see the big screen debut of Venom (which has been highly tipped)
Could we see the big screen debut of The Lizard, who I believe Doctor Connor (Pete's university lecturer/teacher) ends up becoming.
Will Mary Jane and Peter's relationship last (though, people who have read the comics know the answer to this one)
What about another love interest (Gwen Stacy was mentioned on the original DVD, plus I remember seeing her in an old comic I had)
Sam Raimi approached Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus) about the possibility of appearing in the next one. We assume he died...but there was no actual proof of that...
As you see, there is a number of ways to keep the next one going...it's just a case of what will they actually do?

Rounders is a really fun movie, and although 25th Hour is a little uneven, there's some great acting in it.
i really like this flim very much mainly because Tom Cruise pull off being a bad guy, i think that goti is what made his look convincing as a bad guy, plus how he handle himself with a gun was also brillant , it's been ages since i seen an action-flim and i'm glad i decide to watch this flim.
Jamie Foxx, who i don't like as an actor as a cab driver but he did ok, i really like how his chacter tried set back Tom's chacter but i thought it was funny when Foxx chacter had conivince bad guy he was Tom that was amusing, the fact he got away with it was good. near to end of the flim Foxx chacter isn't scared of dying and crashes the cab leading him to kind of save last target which was he does.
All in all, definatly suspenful flim and brillant story-line 7/10
i didn't like this sequal, i thought the first one was better, it great seeing julie stiles, she hasn't been in film for sometime but shame it was only for a few minutes. The story-line was ok just thought it too predictable that his girlfriend died at the start of the flim, i knew she was going to die as soon as the flim started.
The action-sequences were too fast to follow which made flim a little bad because audience can't tak-in the stuff he was going, it took less then a second to get gun out bad guy, fight scence were ok but i really didn't enjoy this flim
I am a fan of Kirsten Dunst that's the only reason why i would ever watch a british flim, if it didn't have her, i wouldn't of bother, i thought this was a nice flim, definatly watchable am glad love stry took priory over tennis mind u, u knew that guy was going to win the finale match because he was the star of the fim.
Dunst chacter was amusing and i personally think these type of flim suit her more then the serious flim she has tried like Mona Lisa Smile which think was her worst role. The only surpising thing she lost, would of loved if she won.
The ending was a bit cheesy for my liking but it nice see them in future with kids, that was good ending.
Went to see this expecting it to be very serious, but was surprised at the amount of dark humour. You could certainly see the touch of Quentin Tarantino in it as a guest producer. There are so many faces in it and all of them are good. Clive Owen's accent goes off a little but not too much.
To me the film was beautiful to look at, being brought up on black and white telly. Although I'm not sure that the white blood always worked, think it would have been better to always be red.
I thought Mickey Rourke gave the best performance, really believable.
I didn't like the fact that they made Benicio del Torro look a little ugly - still he had the funniest lines, and was very funny in the car scenes with his head wobbling about!
Elijah Wood was really creepy as the cannibal - it's the eyes or lack of them behind the shine of his glasses.
