The special-fx was fantastic captain nemo boat/submrine was specatular, i couldn't believe it when i saw it, i loved dr jekil/hyde the CGI was also brillant, the metaphosis was brillant to watch. i really enjoyed this flim more then i expected.

I saw She's The Man...and i have to say that it is one of the funniest things i have seen this year! Absolutely frickin' hilarious!

Ok one thing i must say first: If you are expecting a serious version of the Twelfth Night and something along the lines of 10 Things I hate About You( That was funny in a totally different way) then you should NOT to go to see this film.

If you are a footie fan then you will gasp at the liberties they take with the national game! Basically all rules are thrown out of the window!

This is a totally silly story of Viola who is a tomboy. She decides to take her brother's place at an exclusive academy dressed as a boy. But then comedy ensues when her gender swapping confuses her academy buddies... Amanda Bynes( who i have never seen before, but my sis says is a teen tv veteran) is astonishing in her role as Viola. Her comic timing is faultless and without her the film would have been a total flop! Vinnie Jones pops up in a cameo. I am aiming to take my sis in law to see this film. The only worry will be that she is 8 months preggers and this film will likely send her to the nearest labour ward!

So a big thumbs up from me! 9 out of 10.
If you are a "serious" film fan then give this one a miss! If you can suspend all disbelief then you will enjoy it! Smile

Narrative.... the driving force that should be the core and essence of all things cinematic to keep our interest piqued and to allow all the attendant joy of the film experience to unravel within the confines of an interesting plot.
I completely despair at times when I see the extent to which the masses allow themselves to be spoon-fed such soporific, inane garbage as Little Man, You Me And Dupree and Pirates et al.... without stampeding the box office and demanding their money back and compensation for wasted time and libel dues for the insult to their intelligence which has occured under the alleged guise of being "entertained".
I hark back to the golden era of the seventies when great films ( French Connection, Klute, All The Presidents Men, The Conversation, Taxi Driver.... need I go on ? )graced our cinemas and set the bar very high for future generations of film-makers. It is a pity that such masters of their trade as Scorsese and Pakula have never gained the ultimate (sic) reward in the shape of little Oscar for showing that cinema can be challenging, intelligent, forthright, wonderful and rewarding... maybe on reflection they wear their snubs from the Academy as badges of honour and a clarion call whenever they may be debating selling their souls and launching their integrity down the river to attain the plaudits of the Academy and the drooling masses who salivate over the mindless madness that assails us from every angle in our cinemas of today.
Telling a story is simple, being good at it is without question an elusive talent and it appears to be taking a back seat these days and I for one am sick of the nameless accountants and money men who know nothing about the art of cinema and insist on taking the aforementioned bar and pummelling the public into submission and eternal catatonia.....

Watch The Painted Veil! I saw him there for the first time. His acting is sober like Clint Eastwood, angry like John Wayne, a zest of violence, romantic like Redford (young) and yet, physically, he is very ordinary. That must be the key! You can transform an ordinary physic through the personnality of the character into an attractive man, a revolting man, an angry man ,etc... It is more difficult for the good looking one to be someone else, their beauty is an obstacle.
