1. Generally, yes, if by chick flick you mean romantic comedies - it's a term that men use rather than women.

2. Romantic - I can get enough feminism in the real world, romance is less easy to come by!

3. Which actual film? The Goodbye Girl is good, recently enjoyed The Notebook, PS I love you. The Champ (1970's) is a chick flick probably, but not a love story - even men cried at that film.

4. A desire for a little romance or to have my heart touched in some way.

5. Romantic films aren't trying to get a message across, they are usually just for entertainment.

6. Women in romantic films are usually an idealistic version of women; feminist films are usually more down to earth, not necessarily realistic

7. I am still struggling to figure out quite what you mean by 'feminist' films really!

No, I despise them with a passion. I find them formulaeic and boring.

Romantic - I find feminist chick flicks portray women in a lazy and sterotypical light, while the romantic variety are harmless.

Not sure if I ever enjoyed a film that could be considered a chick flick...

I never do. If the other half wants to see it, she can go solo.

I think the distinction is a mute point - they are both just lazy film making
