this is fantastic.along with the descent, one of the best horror flicks i've seen in years.the first half hour is slow-burning with a genuine feeling of dread before it all kicks off.brutally violent, and deeply disturbing, i can't recommend this highly enough.also,it's director alexandre aja made the 2002 horror flick 'switchblade romance' which is bonkers, totally ott violence with a nasty sting in the tale.if you haven't seen it buy the dvd then go see the hills have eyes.he's the new master of horror.

i found it really scary, the beginning of the film i found most disturbing, really gave me the wiggins, it makes you think ... could this have really happened? when you think about the many murders in the world it makes it such a scary place.

It's one of the more nasty films of late for sure, but I found little empathy for the characters - In a way, maybe it's being true to the original in that respect.

Gross and entertaining but not memorable.

that was what was scarey for me.. they were just humans with deformaties not aliens or monsters, did make me think is it at all realistic for these humans to get so animalistic and savage like they have?
