I am the Editor of The TV Show website. Firstly, I’d like to pass on the thanks from everyone involved with The TV Show to all of you who helped out with the first programme and the pilot show. It was really appreciated.
Secondly, Dorothy Byrne, the person in charge of The TV Show at Channel 4 would like to know what you all thought of the show – both those of you who took part and those of you who watched it on telly on Saturday or on 4OD.
For her the most interesting bit was the debate on how TV handles Muslim issues. Do you agree?
Thirdly, I’d like to draw your attention to a feature that we’re trialling on the site. Every month Channel 4 receive loads of letters, emails and calls about programmes. We’ve put together a top 10 of the programmes that people appreciated and criticised last month, with the odd quote to give you a flavour. We’d love to know if this is interesting or boring and most of all if our viewers in forums agree with those that ring and write in. See: Cheers and Grumbles.

The cheers and grumbles top 10 is a neat idea. Interesting to see what people would write in about.

Never understood why Gordon Ramsay's swearing offends so many people though. The offensive intent of swearing is lost these days. Now people swear just to make their sentences last longer. My mum will cringe every time however.

Yes, that's an eminently powerful and persuasive defence of swearing.

Ramsay is brilliant, when I first encountered this guy on TV I was shocked not for me, but for others.
He is right, and how could it be portrayed in such a working environment watered down or beeped every ten seconds, this is the real world!
TV today has choice! You know what to expect and if you don't there is a warning before the show starts. If you wander into it half way through and are then disgusted then turn off or over.
I really do not understand people who complain about such things, when they have no need to watch it at all.
Would they go and watch a '18' cert film at the cinema then come and complain, you know maybe they would!

If another 'doc' on a similar thread was done in a different industry then the tone of language maybe different and relevant. I think this one is simply fine. Next let's see a version done around building sites, now that would be scary.

Channel 4 your poll is great keep up the good work but I guess you assume most viewers use the internet, if I didn't just stumble across this through the forums I wouldn't know it exists. So for the many relations and friends I know who are not 'web-savvy' they would not have a clue this service exists. There could be room for a quick 10 minute programme like 'Points of View' that could explore the polls further?

I don't wish I got my TV licence for free. But I do wish I could pay Sky, Virgin or whoever the small amount I require for three or four channels rather than having to shell out a small fortune each month to help subsidise the unwatchable garbage they boast of as 'multichannel heaven'. It's criminal.

I suppose it was to be expected that half of the programmes appear on both the lists. 'Boy A' is one of the best dramas shown on Channel 4 for a long time. Very thoughtful and thought-provoking piece. The Unreported World series has been extremely interesting, I just wish the programmes had been an hour long and advertised more strongly.

Also as for muslims and your idea about the 10 most criticised shows, that depends on whether you wish to appease pundits or take a no holds barred approach and do whatever you want. You should have free run over the programs you make with less consideration towards the emotions of your viewers. To be honest I was too busy watching "world's wildest police videos" on Bravo to watch "the tv show".

Am I the only one who is getting a bit lost in all these forums, The TV Show forums, Cheers and Grumble etc. I posted a message and have no idea where it has gone. Then again might not even have been posted up by C4. Also spot on all you guys about the TV license, daylight robbery at its best. We get nothing like C4 are willing to show from Aunty Beeb.

errr- no fourMOTION - I got lost too. I got to this one via the News section, and it seems to put me back in the Talk4 section. Channel 4 have obviously forgotten to update something properly!

That's sweet. It's a bit like Douglas Bader turning up at the ice rink with some sweeties: 'Not really my deal, y'know, but, ah, you lads and lassies...hah...have some...er...fun. "Audience feedback"? What an extraordinary idea! Is a
