The Channel 4 Viewers' Editor has been investigating the impact the on-going writers' strike is having on our favourite US imports.
It's good news for Desperate Housewives fans (it's back in late March) and for Daily Show fans (back on More 4 this week), but the outlook is not so good for Ugly Betty fans.
Get the low down on the strike on The TV Show site. Let the Viewers' Editor know on the website if there are specific programmes on which you'd like her get an update.
There is 1 unaired episode left to screen, it went out in the US a couple of nights ago. After that there will be probably be none until after the strike, even though 2 episodes have already been written, because all the cast are on the writer's picket line.
Good for them on the solidarity front, sucky for us!
There are optimistic reports in the US press suggesting that the US writers and studios may be close to an agreement that could end the strike. Articles quote unnamed sources familiar with the negotiations, but a media blackout remains in force, so there’s been no formal statement as yet. But fingers crossed…. Keep an eye on The TV Show website, for updates on the strike and what it means for C4 programmes.
