I'd like to ask why Real Big Brother and others from C4 asked for our opinion on how BB should be this year? Why bother asking if your intention was to ignore what we asked for?

Zero Tolerance.. BB is so bad again its not even funny!

what do you make of this year's 'zero tolerance' policy

What Zero tolerance policy?

So they've spent a few hours in the garden behind bars - being given food and blankets blah blah flipping blah - and the worst offenders IE: Bex (for cutting up the belt) walk away scot flipping free - BB needs to get a grip!

Have I really nothing better to do?

In terms of Big Brother Zero Tolerance in many ways reflects the problem with crime today.

People are warned about their actions as most would for their first offence but BB as in real life non of them took any notice. Even Alex being kicked out of the house seemed to have little impact on raining the housemates in. Even when Dennis was kicked out of the house has this warning sunk in well in Bex case clearly not.

You only have to look at the punishment as again in real life the jail time is to easy. The sentances for crime do not act as enough of a threat to make people consider their own actions. Even when they are sent to jail in BB they have people to talk to, give them food etc. In real jails they all have TV's video game machines and 3 square meals a day. No wonder people are trying to break into jails it is a home from home.

None of this is working it can hardly be said to have a Zero Tolerance with over 70% of the house have already been to jail, 2 have been kicked out and housemates warned so many times I have lost count.

If any thing this policy has made the housemates worst than even I have never seen so much fighting in BB almost none stop.

Should BB have been toughter ?

Well yes I think so had they been hard on Alex maybe they could have stopped her before it was too late, did they wait too long before breaking up the painting fight.

The jail should be made harder no should be able to pass them food or talk to them. Make them sit alone to think about their actions cut them off from the rest of the house.

The same goes for real life we need longer jail time, the jails need to be made a place peope dont want to go. Perhaps then it will act as a warning to people that carry knifes and guns on on streets.

What Zero Tolerance?

I have to watch Mohammed, and to a lesser extent Rex, being bullied on almost a daily basis.

I understand that Big Brother cannot stop all the bitching behind one anothers back, but when it is being targeted at one person, then that is when they should definiately get involved and take the appropriate action.

Actually I wasn't Confused Not specifically anyway

I was thinking in general of all the infractions and general rule breaks we have seen so far this series let alone all the bullying and general nastiness that should be called to account.

Hi all,

Posting live from the production company where I can confirm that the two debates to be featured on Saturday's show are:

Big Brother - what do you think of this year's 'zero tolerance' policy. Is it working? Does it even exist?!

Disarming Britain - will C4's season on gun and knife crime generate worthwhile debate and have a positive impact on society, or does it run the risk of glamourising the possession of weapons?

If you'd like to contribute to the show, or even join the live studio audience, please contact thetvshow@princesstv.com - see our new Take Part section for more details.

Thanks

Thanks for letting us know Thumbs Up

As a word of warning, you may find it ealier to prove the existence of the Loch Ness Monster than BB's zero tolerance policy.

Good Luck

The incident where Bex destroyed Mo's belt should have been dealt with by BB. Also Bex has a very bad attitude when speaking to BB. BB needs to severly reprimand her.

Watching this years BB is viewing a show case on the current violent society that we live in.

The sly and often malicious comments by the younger girls in the House portray how lately is seems to be the female gender that are more aggressive. Although the males display anger, like Stu and Dale, it is often the females that get right up in the face of people they don't like. The constant shouts of "Keeping it Real" and "I am being myself" are no excuse for outrageous behaviour.

People of a more gentle nature are viewed as fake and not real. Only because they are probably more wiser for their years, they are viewed as playing a game.

Society today is fed up of "The Chav Society"

So far Rebbecca has screamed and shouted at other Housemates like a mad woman, for things she has done herself, she has discussed nominations on more than one occasion and has damaged both another housemate's property as a result of a malicious act, and now even a mirror in the Big Brother house by kicking it, while acting like a child. Dispite all this she seems to be let of lightly everytime with Big Brother seeming to to very little if anything...where has this "Zero Tolerance" policy disappeared to???

What 'zero tolerance' policy? All I see is randomly selected house mates being put behind bars. Whilst the real perpetrators of crimes against television (ie Jen and Dale) are passed over and practically lauded for their appalling behaviour.

I see dumb people.

BB Zero Tolerance?? I havent seen any of it, a poxy jail isnt doing anything for us as viewers or as a discipline tool for the thick H/m

Hollyoaks = No theres nothing wrong with showing 2 men kiss, however showing a young lad and a priest at it is a bit yuck for my liking Blush

Big Brother have pretty-much admitted that their so-called "Zero Tolerance" policy does not exist.
Over on the BB forum, The Official Big Brother ("The Real BB") posted the following comments early-on in the series:

"As yet there has not been a rule break that merits a jail term." [This was posted after Alex had been warned for agressive behaviour.]

"It would get silly if we punished them with jail for these minor crimes - imagine how frustrating it's be to watch if BB stopped every conversation and every bit of action to bang on about a minor rule break."

These comments show that BB is paying lip-service to "Zero Tolerance" and the "broken windows" concept behind it. By definition, "Zero Tolerance" means the severe punishment of all crimes - no exceptions.

When BB promised a Zero Tolerance" policy, it was assumed that BB would be much more severe and consistent in punishing housemates - something that fans have been complaining about for years. In practise though, punishment this year bears no relation to "Zero Tolerance" as normally understood. The BB jail is a joke, minor offences are going unpunished, and as the quotes given above show, this is deliberate and planned.

zero tolerance seems to have been forgotten,,,,what a waste of a great chance for BB to show there metel...

if you go to jail for discusing noms you should also be automatically up for public vote

any form of agression or natiness be it verbal physical or mental in deed or thought should be treated as jail and loss of a whole house privalage

I'd hope zero tolerance doesn't refer to rejecting someone spitting in Mohammed's face; surely the perpetrator should have been thrown out for that anyway? As for the rest of the aggressive threatening behaviour from the perpetrators alies, all BB said was that "some viewers might have interpreted it as aggressive". Pathetic!

And while on the subject of BB: why is it that in all 9 series of BB, there has been a statistical over-representation of non-white housemates? And the average over all nine, I calculate as 26% non-white housemates.

Do the producers find white people to be inherently less exhibitionist, or is just plain stupid multiculturalist bias against white Europeans in a European country?

What like the few dreary minutes you gave the "In God's Name" show!

Folks this is just another of those programmes designed to influence public opinion, nothing to do with any serious debate.

We are told what to think, with no questions

As far as zero tolerance, crime and guys kissing go - best thing the TV Show could do is encourage a campaign for Ch4 to show all five seasons of The Wire and then debate that show. It addresses all of the above. And it's truer than most documentaries and reality shows - it's got believable young black characters and everything.
