I've always been a fan of Richard & Judy but if their show really ends, I think I would prefer "Come Dine with Me" in their slot. I think Paul O'Grady is great but that his show tends to cater for children rather that adults but that's just my opinion and I'm probably wrong as he has a great fan following and also seems to be a lovely guy.

It's on Ch4 2.55 to 3.25, but I have to go out halfway through to collect my youngest daughter from school so I would like it to be on later.

I dnt think havin an opinion on a subject like this reli could be abusive nor arrogant, people are just blowin the whole thing ot of proportion nw, forums are suposed to be friendly places n i no the one i spend time on certainly is that so i dnt feel we nt tolerant. Dnt reli want to say much more on this subject as i m nt the kind of person to argue n like to have fun on the forums so makin up silly pointless arguements is just stupid. Accept that every1 has an opinion , n them opinions may be different to that of urs.

I personally think that 'Come Dine With Me' is best suited as a daytime programme. I really do not see the appeal of 'The Paul O'Grady' show, but as it is very popular I think that it should actually be utilised as a proper tea-time television programme and be moved to 6pm. As for 'Richard & Judy' I just think it is a shame that they are calling it a day after six years on Channel4.

So pleased to here that Come Dine With Me is going prime time. I love it!! Also Richard and Judy needed a break as i think their show drags on a little towards the end of the series so it is a nice change to have Paul O'Grady in with an even better series. Crazy Thumbs Up Laugh Clapping Wave
if anything, i'd want come dine with me to be on for an hour to replace my beloved R&J because i love come dine with me too.
i agree cos come dine with me seems to be really short only being half an hour and it is soooooo much more interesting than some of the Richard and Judy episodes. Big Grin

I agree with you chris, this thread in paticular have offensive comments on it. I understood the purpose of it was to help channel 4 decide what type of programme the viewers wanted shown in the 5 -6pm slot, if no sensible advice is given then we cannot complain if we don't like what they put on. I agree that offensive posts should be deleted.

The Only Reason Paul Has The Same Guest On Is

There Not Just People Who Have Done This & That

There Hes Friends And He Enjoys A Chat After Thats What He Show Is About And Hes Show Is For All Ages

And I don't Know Why People Would Rather That Rubbish Richard & Judy & Come Dine With Me

There For Morning Time Or Early Morning Stuff Like 2am

Richard & Judy Have Long Ago Passed There Sell By Date

Thats My Opinion

Hi Diggy. You can post after all. I shouted "hello" to you a couple of times but you didn't reply. Are you alright? Don't know what's happened to Rothgar.

Will you lot stop picking on each other, please?

This was supposed to be a civil debate about what should replace Richard and Judy.

I’m glad to see you’re all passionate about it and there’ve been some excellent suggestions [thanks for all these], but if you can’t keep it above the belt, I’ll have the mods telling me off (again) for starting the online version of fight club or, should I say, Punch and Judy.

Maybe if you start being nice, we’ve got more chance of getting the C4’s Head of Daytime in here to respond to the feedback.

Carrot…eh…stick…eh…mixed metaphors…

So where were we? Ah yes you were giving your views on the future of daytime telly…

Cheers.

P.S. if you've got views on scheduling go here.

I think the suggestions made earlier in this thread were good ones about replacing R&J with a magazine show. The One Show on the BBC works very well, so maybe something similar to that. What I'd like to see less of is the focus on celebrity interviews to fill the programme, I think topical features would be more interesting and maybe a bit of audience debate too.

More tea, vicar? Why not take the suggestions from us 'lot' and ignore the rest? It's a bit galling to take the trouble to contribute and then not only be pestered by troublemakers but also patronised by the TV Show!

As a new poster, I would willingly participate in an adult debate if I was confident that my posts would not be inexplicably deleted.
My experience to date (of the News Forum) is bewilderment.
The "silly" posts on here don't really matter, as long as they're not obscene etc.
Goodbye.

oooooo get you Big Grin

Seriously though, Dixion made a very valid point about the moderators. If they did a bit more proper moderating and a bit less chucking their weight about for the sake of it, maybe we might get somewhere.

I want something decent and live for the early evening. Something topical, but not the news itself. Not endless repeats of Friends or The Simpsons (face it, those two programmes are OVER), but something put together rather than thrown together.

Something a bit like This Morning (but in the evenings obviously) without annoying reality TV stars as guests and no scraping the bottom of the barrel "rent-a-mouth" so called "experts". No fawning over famous people either.

For me, the R&J format worked pretty well, so stick with that and get someone else in to do it instead if they're still intent on leaving.

I would suggest that more time spent on fewer guests/items would be worth thinking about for any programme.
