Hi All
Thanks so much for taking the time and trouble to post your suggestions for daytime on Channel 4. I've been very impressed with your knowledge (and memories!) of daytime and really like some of your ideas. I hope that you will be pleased with whatever we decide to go with once Richard & Judy finish in August - I have no doubt you'll soon let me know if you're not! Suffice to say, we seem to agree on quite a few things... so watch this space. Thanks again and we very much appreciate your support.
Best wishes
Helen

Come Dine With Me is one of those programmes that I'm drawn into without quite knowing why. I love the narrator, but I can't say I'm a fan of the new 4-night cram-into-an-hour format though.

Hi Polythene_Girl, I like come dine with me too but didn't last night. Being from Newcastle myself I was quite embarrassed. They didn't even cook. It was a disgrace.

God forbid that the rest of the country think all northeasterners are like this bunch. The last girl was horrible, tabasco sauce on everything, what an obnoxious person. I have never met anybody from Newcastle who was that pretentious, ill educated or ill mannered. I too was embarrassed. I bet their parents were horrified.

By the way, I love the new, well deserved primetime slot. About time they realised what a little gem this programme is. Only need for them to bring back Coach Trip now, this also did the same slot as CDWM, put it on on a friday night, I am sure it will lift the viewing figures. The friday night scheduling at the moment is terrible, this goes for all channels and channel 4 could get the others on the hop if it puts this little gem in even if it only repeats the past series

I'm a fan of Paul as well - I especially enjoy his interviews and the way he listens and reacts to his guests.
As for replacing the R & J show, their magazine format has a lot going for it - it's the presenters themselves that I find irritating. If you can find a presenter or presenters who can focus on the topic/guest without interrupting or constantly referring to themselves, I'd watch it.
So keep the format but avoid the R & J mistakes - interruptions, egocentricity, arrogance, self-reference, croneyism, nepotism and any other isms you can think of!

The Salon was great - wonder what happened to them all.

Looks like Channel 4 has been busy lining up R & J's replacement:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/showbiz/...1822&in_page_id=1773

So it's Big Tel versus the Hamster. Terry Wogan as quizmaster could be fun - as long as he keeps his wits about him. Richard Hammond had a 5 O'Clock Show with Mel Giedroyc a couple of years ago which was pretty painful to watch. . .

There might be only one way to resolve it.
Fight!

I miss R & J and loathe POG. R & J had reasonably intelligent discussions; POG is totally banal, whovever presents it.
I think it was a mistake to move CDWM to the evening slot; it was perfect where it was. Countdown wouldn't work if it was on at prime time, and neither does CDWM. The so-called 'celebrity' episode of CDWM cheapened the show.

SAVE THE WHALES! Collect the whole set.
