I'm part way through installing this, but I have been thinking recently that if everyone started watching TV online, would we need still need a licence ?
Are you pushing your luck legally not to have a TV (or a licence) and watch everything online ?
Does anyone remember the programme which was the precursor of 'Devil's Advocate' hosted by Darcus Howe? The "host" and questioner was an American chap who (I recall) never had a cup of tea or coffee far away from his hand. It was quite brilliant and I LONG for that kind of programme to be repeated. Who WAS that man?

Yes, you most certainly are, committing a criminal act, that is, if you don't have a licence. You risk a custodial sentence. For any appliance capable of receiving BBC1, BBC2 ITV Channel4 and 5 you require a TV licence. If, however, you are registered blind or 74 years and over it's free. As a fully paid-up licence holder, I refuse to subsidize those without, and will grass up any such person, without hesitation.
