well it sounds like a good idea. but there is a worrying and common misconception that all of us young people are obsessed with celebrity culture and that what we really desire are programmes about Paris Hilton type characters that are about solely superficial issues. as a teenager myself i want to see programmes that don't just focus on such issues that cater to a certain group amongst young people, whose main concern is what britney spears has done in the past 24 hours.
how about some real debate programmes aimed at young people? and not Big Brother's Big Mouth kind of programmes with everyone shouting over each other, but reports about important issues, afterwards giving various people with different opinions a chance to talk and defend their opinion.
also how about some more interesting music programmes. looking at bands who actually write their own songs, play their own intrusments, rather thanmixing them in with mainstream, manufactured pop and hip hop.
i think what is essential to the success of a new programme aimed at teenagers, in order for it to be really different and not just more of the same we already have, is to give us some credit. believe that there are still young people, both students and teenagers who really care about real issues. to not patronise us and believe that we have the ability to consider and discuss complex issues. and to not believe everything you read about my generation
And In The End The Love You Take Is Equal To The Love You Make
- Remember that, the Beatles were all about love, it's all you need. Peace and love everyone!
and nothing to do with big brother or like skins coz they are rubbish

i think we need programmes which deal with teen age issues, like sexuality, drugs, alcohol, dealing with parents and college etc. and i fink it needs fresh talent from all walks of life .e people from a rural background those in an urban, different social strat need to be involved and portrayed.
I think channel four should bring back a reincarnation of Gamesmaster of some form to be honest. I don't mean bring back Gamesmaster because that is just not going to happen. To me Gamesmaster has been the only decent video games TV show in the last 16/17 odd years, and I think its time they got the winning formula together again in some form.
Above all teenagers are an ideal market for this sort of show to be aimed at, as well as many other age ranges. Come on Channel four give us something worth tuning into, not more crappy sitcoms and unoriginal programming!
I would like to see more programes that get to grips with young issues like drugs, sex, and health problems. I like the raunchyness and realism of skins....its extreme but it gets to the point of what is really going on.
I would also like to see some fresh new talent on the screen dont re-use the same old actors/actresses

I'd like to see some programmes that dont treat me like i have the IQ of a 2 year old. I find that very often programmes for teenagers are patronising saying we're all out to pickle our livers or knife people. How about something that treats us as the supposed "young adults" everyone wants us to be?
I insanely agree with Little Shakespeare there, but I find that some teenagers are, too be frank, too dumb, that they miss shows with spirit, shows like Nearly Famous.
Frankly, I've lost faith that the tv world will accept shows with that hopeful spirit. For example, Nearly Famous wasn't cancelled, but it didn't develop a huge following since most teenagers thought it's a rip off of Skins, when clearly the context, feel, and scriptwriting differs from the first series of Skins. (Currently, every new teen drama I hear off is being described as like Skins just because it's a teen drama, and that's something to take note of, for its positive meaning to 4, and for its negative connotations to mainstream teen thinking.) Quarterlife, which isn't a teen drama, was cancelled after one episode because of the lack of viewers, despite the huge online following, and despite the hopeful, full-of-spirit, alternative feel.
Great shows are almost always dropped just because they're not marketable enough. Now I know how the industry is fast and unforgiving, but if it TV is also fast and unforgiving to the youth, what do you suppose will happen? If teen programmes lack spirit, teens will lack spirit.

A logical approach which I'd be disappointed if you dont already use.
Ineterent (pirate download/streaming) demographic seems to be what your aiming for 15 - 25 year olds. So could I suggest looking for shows from around the world with high download ratios.
It appears you have used this method in the past with Nip Tuck, Lost, Desperate Houswifes & Ugly Betty. (To have the shows stolen once they were popelar) And BBC seemed to have done very well getting Heros which has been an internet phenomon. Along with Channel 5 getting House, two shows which would appeal to the age group.
A quick look suggests; One Tree Hill The L Word Kyle XY (Also one of my favourites) Two and A Half Men Grays Anatomy
My own personal favourites; Numb3rs The Riches Beauty and The Geek The Apprentice (US)
And a Wild Card; Traveller, an amazing programme which I believe is Candian, run 7/8 episodes as a polit failed to find backers for complete season but in my opinion is very cleverly wrote an amazing group of actors and will pull in millions if advertised. This will be more long the lines of producing rather than buying but another avenue.

personally, i would love it if there were more british shows about teenagers. character driven drama's with plot are my kind of thing because i feel i can relate to some of the characters. i don't want anymore over acted over the top american stuff; but that's just how i feel.
skins i love - but it's easy to make drama's very different from skins great as well - so teen drama's with different styles and dealing with different issues would be brillient!
i will be happy when e4 starts showing seires 7 of smallville
