It's weird how many times this question has been asked over the past, uh, however long.
I'm procrasinating doin' c/w so I'll give it ago.
I think DH is quite stereostypical how they represent females and males. Each female is really a stereostypical view of women. For example they show Gabrielle as a woman who cares a lot about the way she looks and how she thinks looking good is extremely important.
Edie is viewed as a woman who's ambitions are men and wanting men to like her. Susan as a clumsy female who can't keep herself together and how she acted with Mike showed that she needed a man to keep her grounded and together.
All these examples are pretty stereotypical views on women, which make the show funnier.
Let me also add that it is different for a show to center around women, if you look at most shows they're about a family or a mixture of both genders.
..mmkk, I could have used media words but I'm bored now.
So I'm going to shuddup.
