We won't be getting S4 until C4 know how many episodes there will be. At the moment only 10 episodes have been filmed. Episode 9 and 10 being a two parter that will end with a cliffhanger incase no more episodes are made. It's been reported that the writers strike might be resolved soon, and the producers might try and squeeze some more epsiodes in. So at the moment no one knows if the 10th episode, which airs in America on Jan 6th, will be the last in the current series, or whether it will just be on a hiatus. So until C4 knows they won't air the series, but they definately will as there contact doesn't expire until after S4 ends. So to get back to the point it could start airing anywhere from late jan onwards. I'd guess that we won't get it till spring.
P.S Sky want to snatch the rights to air Desperate Housewives from C4 when there contract ends this year. This seems likely as C4 aren't putting much of their annual budget into securing the rights for american imports, instead investing in more ground breaking documentiries, and things of the like. Which is bad for E4 as they depend on shows from America like Smallville, OC and desperate housewives to fill up their sheduals.
