Mike had an old girlfriend called Deirdre who was a drug addict and they had a baby son called Dana.
Angela Forrest (Mary Alice's real name) and Felicia Tillman worked at a hospital in Utah where Deirdre would go to get treated. Deirdre sold Dana to Angela/Mary Alice and husband Paul to feed her drug habit.
Angela/Mary Alice then fled to Wisteria Lane in Fairview with the boy as she wanted a son of her own and didn't want to give him back. Angela changed her name to Mary Alice and Dana became Zach.
When Deirdre tracked them down she wanted her son back and Mary Alice accidently killed her in the struggle with a fire poker. Mary Alice and Paul then cut Deirdre up and put her body in Zach's toy chest and buried it under their pool.
Martha Huber, who lived next door to Mary Alice on Wisteria Lane, happened to be the sister of Felicia Tillman who worked with Angela/Mary Alice back at the hospital in Utah. Mrs Huber recognised Mary Alice from a photo Felicia had in her house and Felicia told her the story of how she disappeared with Deirdre's baby.
Mrs Huber then sent an anonymous note to Mary Alice stating she knew what Mary Alice did and she would tell people. Because of this note and the huge secret she was hiding she then went and shot herself.
Mary Alice's husband Paul then dug up the toy chest and threw it in a lake. Eventually the police found it and Deirdre was identified. The truth all came out when Mike took Paul hostage and he confessed that Mary alice killed Deirdre.
Oh yeah and along the way Paul killed Mrs Huber as he found out that she was blackmailing Mary Alice and this lead to her suicide.

We don't know yet. We'll find out at the end of the season. We haven't found out over the last three years that it's been on air. Don't forget, the States are 3 months ahead of us (in seasons) so if any of you have friends/relatives there you can ask them what's going on (if you're super keen).

NOOOOO, IT'S NOT TRUE! THERE IS MORE 2 WHY mARY aLICE COMMITED SUICIDE. IT IS ACTUALLY THE BIG MYSTERY OF DESPERATE HOUEWIVES. MS HUBER'S DEATH THREATS IS WHAT PAUL BELIEVED 2 BE THE REASON OF HER DEATH, BUT THERE IS MORE 2 IT. IN "BANG" U NOTICE THAT MARY ALICE READS THE NOTE SENT 2 HER BY MARTHA HUBER THEN GOES INSIDE THE HOUSE AND SHOOTS HERSELF, BUT SINCE WE HAVEN'T ACTUALLY SEEN MARY ALICE'S DEATH IN HER OWN EYES, WE DON'T REALLY KNOW. FROM WATCHING DESERPATE HOUSEWIVES FOR A LONG TIME, I'VE NOTICED THE ONLY TIME WE GET THE FULL TRUTH IS WHEN THE PERSON EXPERIENCES A FLASHBACK. S1 ONLY REVEALED THE WHOLE ZACH/DANA/DIERDRE/MIKE THING, BUT NOT THE MARY-ALICE THING. THAT IS WHY MARY ALICE CONTINUES 2 NARATE THE SHOW. SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENED THAT NIGHT, SOMETHIGN MORE THAT MADE MARY ALICE COMMIT SUICIDE AND I BELIEVE THAT MAYBE EVEN PAUL YOUNG MAY NOT KNOW WHAT IT IS.

Last ep of S1 reveals that Paul and Mary Alice Young stole Dana and changed his name into Zach then Diedre came after the baby and that Mary Alice killed Diedre and that Zach is Mike's son, but it doesn't say anything abotu Mary Alice commiting suicide. The whole Mrs Huber sending death threats 2 Mary Alice was revealed in the episode Paul Young killed Mrs Huber in. And some1 burnt some1's house down - i think it was Susan and she burnt down either Edie's or Mrs Huber's house cant remember which of them.
