Why is CF Mucus so sticky??
Cf sufferers have mucus on the surface of the epithelial cells that is sticky because it contains less water than normal! the reduced water level is due to salt and water transport across the cell surface membranes of cells lining airways. result of faulty transport protein channel in membrane.
