Do you mean the show or the character?

Because the show was never overrated as people were aware of how unfortunately bad it was

And the character? Never as good as Chandler, but had his best scenes with him. They were great in seasons 2/3/4
Joey was also sweet with Rachel

well the show isnt over rate becuase no1 rates it highly anyway considering it got axed.

i watched it but it was nowhere near as good as friends.

I think so many people like him because he's considered the "good looking one", so everything he says is funny because he's good looking?

well i always liked him more than ross...

i loved him in the one where he swapped books with rachel and he read 'little women' and he was so upset in the end that he wanted her to put the book in the freezer! his expression was adorable, i really wanted to hug him when he said 'beth is really really sick!'
