I was watching the friend episode ‘TOW The Proposal’ and just wondered whether Monica really loved Chandler as much as she loved Richard. When Monica was in Richards’s apartment and he asked her if she ever thought about him, she replied ‘I never let myself think about you, because getting over you was the hardest thing I ever had to do!’ Which implied to me that deep down inside she still had feelings for him, therefore not thinking about him to avoid bringing back any feelings. Does anyone agree or disagree?
I think Monica does love Chandler as much as she loved Richard. It seems like Richard was her first big love so those feelings will always be special to her, but im sure she wants to spend the rest of her life with Chandler.

thats a good point that lindor makes! Chandler will never be able to sweep Monica off her feet like Richard does whenever he appears. But obviously no-one can beat Chandler in the long run for her.

Richard is VERY handsome for an older man so don't be ashamed of fancying him! I wanted Monica to end up with Richard and Chandler to end up with Kathy (before she cheated on him of course!)
Why is it ok by Chandler that Monica goes off to think about their relationship and what she really wants? Chandler doesn't even ask her why she was considering Richards proposal.
It does seem that Richard is rather important to Monica.

I disagree. Monica was in a state of Limbo, not knowing what to do... she thought Chandler didn't want the same things she did and then Richard offered her all those things. She loved Chandler with all her heart, I think even more than Richard because Chandler was willing to do all the things she wanted. After all, she proposed to Chandler... or attempted to anyway. It's true, Richard will always have a place in Monica's heart, but I don't think anyone compares to Chandler for Monica, as they had a special friendship and a special bond. IMO.
Don't worry, I fancied Richard too.

I think Richard would be too much for Monica in the long run, so much so that it would break down, as maybe not so apparent when they were just dating but there was a HUGE age gap. And im a guy and i would want chandler over richard n e time, lol dont worry i aint gay, but think about it, chandlers ace! along with Joey, now what more could u want
