Hi
If your using Windows Vista, Please attempt the steps below:
1) Open Internet Explorer and go to
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=34506 2) Click the Upgrade button
Once the process has completed the text on the page should change to: Progress Status: The security components have been upgraded successfully. To play protected files, restart your digital media player. If you cannot play protected files after restarting your digital media player, restart your computer.
3) Try to download something free from 4oD
If you still experience problems then it may be necessary to reset your DRM. 4oD uses Microsoft's Digital Rights Management (DRM) which is a software system used to administer and protect the licences of video, music and other assets in digital environments. It is possible that the DRM system on your computer may get corrupted. For example, this problem may occur if you have replaced hardware components in your computer.
Instructions on how to reset your DRM system are provided by Microsoft and can be found at this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq/drm.mspx#q11_4 As Microsoft's instructions cover a number of possible computer configurations, you may find it easier to follow our simplified instructions:
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY:
If you are using Windows Media Player 11 you will lose all media usage rights and you will not be able to play any protected files (4oD content and any other DRM protected files which you have on your system) until the new media usage rights are downloaded. Neither Channel 4 nor Microsoft accept any responsibility for any loss of DRM licences or associated media usage rights from your system.
1) Locate the DRM folder on your hard disk. This is usually located at: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\DRM
2) Right-click the DRM folder and click Copy
3) Click 'Organize' then paste
4) Open the DRM folder
5) Click 'Organize' and 'Select all'
6) Click 'Organize' and 'Delete'
7) Open Internet Explorer and visit:
http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp and follow the instructions to upgrade the security component of Windows Media Player.
8) Finally download the latest 4oD setup file from
http://www.channel4.com/4od/installer/channel4_on_demand.exe then run it and choose Repair.
Restart your computer and launch 4oD again. Please first test with free content.
You should then be able to use 4oD.
