DO NOT DOWNLOAD. 4od is Malware, it uses Kontiki, to download files FROM your computer onto other people. That's p2p. All well and fine you might say but after you have uninstalled it, it will carry on doing it.
your right and wrong del92, yes I would concider 4od malware as chanel 4 dont make it clear exactly how much stress it will put on your connection even when shut down.
but you are wrong as regards it continuing after uninstalling, the kontiki on demand software is removed
After you uninstall 4od, it will carry on using your computer to get files off. And worse than that, you will have already allowed it to go through your firewall so it will not tell you.
I've downloaded 4OD and since then I've been having problems with closing down my internet browser when opened my internet works fine but every two times or so when i close the browser down it stops responding (hangs) if 4OD has P2P software can this be causing the problem. I tried to uninstall 4OD but it starts then half way through crashes and I have to restart my computer. Can anyone please help?
Sky used the same software, I uninstalled it and IT WAS STILL THERE. I don't know what it was doing, but it took a serious amount of effort to get it off! I don't mind p2p at all, I am completely in favour of it PROVIDED that it is within my control, but the Konti system is so appalling, my laptop would take minutes to switch on compared with the usual seconds... it was unpleasent!
