I am constantly having trouble with 4OD. Not only does KService fail at PC startup and shutdown every single time, but I get script errors when I try to stream shows, again every single time.

Firstly, KService.
At startup I get a Service Hang Report. It also occurs when opening 4OD.
Problem Event Name: ServiceHang
Service Name: KService
Image Name: KService.exe"
Image Version: 0.0.0.0
Service Type: 10
Start Type: 2
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057

And then at shutdown, Delivery Manager Service produces a "Stopped working" error:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: KService.exe
Application Version: 5.11.704.230
Application Timestamp: 462cf946
Fault Module Name: KService.exe
Fault Module Version: 5.11.704.230
Fault Module Timestamp: 462cf946
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 000502f7
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057
Additional Information 1: 6f39
Additional Information 2: be910b51ad3e62ba493971f81aa0371c
Additional Information 3: c21c
Additional Information 4: d12945829477c7a2d795d328695d6882

And then scripting. Every time I get the following error right before the ads start (except for programme ID number of course, but the rest of it is always the same):

Line: 312
Char: 3
Error: Unspecified error.
Code: 0
URL: http://vodapp.grid.channel4.com/c4site-web/c4player.do?programme=2677662

I click "Yes" to continue running scripts and the ads play as normal, and the show then plays as expected.

Then I get the following as the show starts, while the show carries on playing in the background:

Line: 582
Char: 3
Error: Unspecified error.
Code: 0
URL: http://vodapp.grid.channel4.com/c4site-web/c4player.do?programme=2677662

I click "Yes" to continue running scripts and the show continues as expected.

I've gone through the forums and tried all the suggested solutions in the following threads, but the problem won't go away:

http://community.channel4.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5660030976/m/3270096069

I've removed Kontiki, 4OD and Flash, and reinstalled fresh copies but the same things happen every time.

Is this normal or I am just really unlucky? Hope there's some help available...

Thanks
Soupie

When a script error like this occurs please try refreshing the page you are getting the error on by pressing F5 on your keyboard.

If you still experience problems please enable scripts in Internet Explorer settings:

1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools >
Internet Options
2. Click the Security Tab
3. Click the Internet icon
4. Click "Custom Level…"
5. In the "Security Settings" window which pops up, scroll down to "Scripting" and ensure there is a checkmark next to "Enable" under Active Scripting

Next clear your Internet Explorer temporary files/cache. You first need to identify which version of Internet explorer you are using:

Open Internet Explorer, Select 'Help', Select 'About Internet Explorer'.

For Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Vista Users

1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools >
Internet Options
2. In the "Browsing history" section in the middle, click "Delete"
3. A window will appear, click the "Delete files" button at the top (this may take a few moments to complete)
4. Click "Close" at the bottom
5. Click "OK" to close the Internet Options window
6. Reboot your PC and try again.

For Internet Explorer 6

1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools >
Internet Options
2. Click the "Delete Files" button in the middle
3. A new box should appear, tick the box "Delete Offline Content"
4. Click OK (this may take a few moments to complete)
5. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.
6. Reboot your PC and try again.

Mad King Soup

Please ensure that Kservice is set to "Automatic" Status for start up.
In XP.
- Click 'Start' then 'Run'.
- Type services.msc and press enter/return.
On the list of services look for 'KService'.
Double click on this line
select Automatic sin the startup type drop down list, click Apply, then ok
In Vista
- Open the search box on the start menu type services.msc and press enter/return.
- Follow and UAC prompts.
Double click on this line
select Automatic sin the startup type drop down list, click Apply, then ok

Please restart your PC and attempt to view content on 4oD.
Should this fail, please Contact Us
