Everytime I try to download 4oD it comes up it says Error 1920.Service (KService)failed to start.
Any ideas? Pleeease.

I tried the steps but they didnt work. I just get the message:
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

if i dont include the quotation marks i get:
C:\program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

i have no idea what these mean. i just want to fix it quick

I have the same problem. I tried the steps they suggested but I got error messages too. Have you had any luck since?

You could try this but its a bit touch and go as to whether it will fix your problems!

Instead of using the directory suggested try:

"C:\Progra~1\Kontiki\Kservice.exe" -service

The dreary reason behind this is that a byte is 8 bits long. so any name longer than 8 bits must be shortened. so you end up with a 6 letter shortening of the folder/file and then "~1" on the end, if there are two that have similar beginnings and you want the second alphabetical listing, it would be "~2" and so on.

You may need to keep changing the path to the extent that it reads

"C:\Progam~1\Kontiki\KServi~1" - service

however i could be wrong because rarely do i use command prompt.

I'm having the same problems. Nothing I do seems to work. It seems that the code they ask you to copy and paste can't be found.

This originally started with a Error 1904 flash problem and took me down the path of KService not being able to go on the "start" function. I've been going round in circles removing all Kontiki files, removing 4od, flash player and iplayer. Reinstalling flash & 4od but NOTHING!!! Won't open have been in contact with the help desk who just send me the same information over and over. That being "unstall 4od and flash" then reinstall it. IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!! Can anyone out there PLEASE HELP. I know that my computer works fine and is able to use 4od as I have previously had it up and running. Since wiping my computer clean due to viruses 4od has just not been able to run. I desperately want to watch the new series of Skins. Thanks in advance.

Can you go to C:\Program Files\Kontiki in Windows explorer and see if KService.exe is actually there?

Go there, and delete any instances of Kontiki

Then uninstall both 4od and the iplayer if you have it

Then go to star run then type regedit and click ok


right so now navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

then find the software folder, and then the kontiki folder (if its not there then job is done)

but if it is, delete all the registry entries and the folder

then reinstall 4od
