I get the same error message and have also installed the latest version of adobe flash player - in fact I've wasted hours installing/uninstalling both Flash & 4oD and messing about to try to get it to work. The 4oD programme just won't load - nothing happens.... Any ideas anyone ?
hey,,, i notice that its been nearly a couple of months since the last posting and i just tried installing and still found the same problem.. has anyone else here had a solution found for this problem yet? or am i alone and this is a dead thread?
Hopefully it's not a dead thread. I have the same problem, wasted hours trying to re-install, install the 4OD recommended upgrades etc... totally disgruntled... Was hoping someone would post a solution sometime soon.
... In fact if 4OD was actually bothering their arse to look at the postings they may have posted someting here to either recognise there is a problem and they are working on it or give us a solution.
I, too am having exactly the same problem. Thought it was my computer! So, does anyone have a solution yet? I desperately need to download the last episode of Kidnapped!!
Same problem here, but it seems to still work okay. That is, when it's not continally reporting page loading errors or even "cannot find server". Remember, it's still only in "beta test", so we are all the guinea-pigs for it.
Uninstall 4OD using control panel, Go to "my computer" then c:drive and program files. navigate to the 4od folder and delete it.
Re-download the program and start the re-install process. This time when it asks you which directory to install to, use a new directory that you haven't used before eg c:4od.
That certainly worked for me. Good luck to all of you. Weel done to channel 4 for being streets ahead of the competition!!
Not sure if it will work for everyone, but I restored my computer to before I installed 4od. After the restoration, I was able to delete the Kontiki folder via the Program Files folder.
