.net framework does not work as you would expect, if a programme requires 1.1 and you have 2.0, you still need to install 1.1 as they are stand alone, so in this case you need to install 2.0 even if you have 3.0............however I am pretty sure that 4oD only works on XP at the moment, you will have to contact C4 to ask when a vista version is being released
Still no sign of an update - how fluid is the deadline for this. So far there's no service for vista planned for the BBC iplayer, or the ITV player - I was really pleased to hear that CH4 were going to cater for vista so soon - now I'm dissappointed - if you hadn't said anything I'd be resigned to waiting as you have to for anything with vista. It's all a matter of managing expectations.
I have just contacted Channel 4 about this, requesting information about any dates they may be hoping to meet.
Personally I think the lack of Vista compatibility for all of these players is crazy, Vista has all the DRM stuff built in that XP does, and then some. And Vista's been out for 6 months now, it ships with (nearly) all new PCs sold. It makes no sense to me. Everyone seems to be just dragging their heels, although I have no idea why.
We had hoped to have a working Vista compatible release of 4oD by the start of July. However due to complications this will be released in the coming weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience.
......looks like a vista version is finally available, the site now says that you can have Windows XP or Vista (not Mac though so both their users will still have to use VPCs to get it working).
I'm pleased to say I've installed the new Vista compatible version, and it seems to work fine, now at last I don't need to boot into XP for anything anymore!
