georgie girl that's the nice thing about this forum we really all do care or should I say 'e care' about each other.

I love this forum you really feel as if you know whats happening in others lifes like last week when Livi was so proud of her son's exam results..perfect example

Today's lovely moment has just come for me (sigh,
My youngest who will be 20 tomorrow if she sees tomorrow that is!!!!

Has just been looking through my jewellery box as she does all the time,I caught her you see,she's going out tomorrow LOL....

Well in a loving deep conversation there, she has just asked me that when I DIE could she have my eternity ring,engagement ring,all my bracelets and I could just give her sister the rest as she's not really into necklaces etc....
No doubt I'll want to be buried with my wedding ring,so she won't ask for that,how kind don't you think!!!!!!

Now how sweet and endearing is that....I'm calling my lawyer tomorrow....

My lovely moment today was being able to change discs in the DVD recorder between the end of "Buck Rogers In The 25th Century" on Bravo and "Star Trek" on Sci-Fi because I missed that episode earlier in the week but wanted it on a separate disc that I had copied the previous two episodes onto. It takes a few moments to "set" the first disc before you can take it out and a few more to read the 2nd disc before you can start recording. During that time I had to also change channels using a function that brings up a blue bar on the screen and I wanted to avoid having that bar on the recording, so I had to wait for that to fade out too, and do all this during about 3 minutes of adverts - so it was close but I got all of the credits on Buck Rogers and the Sci-Fi channel start signal on "Star Trek". Sorry if all that is boring for the non-technical but it means a lot to me!!

Well, I don't think anyone should feel inadequate if they can't properly work a DVD deck, it's not quite as simple as Dixons sales staff want you to believe! In most recorder machines it's as easy to record directly off TV as it is to record on a VHS deck, but some other function can be a bit more complicated. Most of it's easy for me because I've spent a high percentage of my adult life using electronic gadgets and doing courses on how to fix common problems with them, whereas most people have other issues that take up their time. It's been mainly a hobby rather than a career, and I still need to call in a professional engineer sometimes, so I'm not claiming to be an expert, but the point is that even with my training/experience there are still several buttons on my DVD remote that I never push because even after reading the manual I'm somewhat afraid of what the machine might do if I do press them!!

i know this sound stupid but........ i think it is personal between me and the vcr and dvd player!

they know it's me looking to tape something and refuse to do it because they know i will crack up and i think they just sit there laughing at me!!
