On the subject of hols, one of the best places I've ever been to is Dalyan in Turkey. It is on a river which runs to the sea. Lots to see and do ,all at bargin prices. And the restaurants are plentiful and excellent.

Do you have any recommendations folks?

We went to Turkey two years ago, to Icmeler. It's beautiful there, and we went to Dalyan - is that where the turtle beach is? We are going back in July. I love Cyprus - we've been there quite a few times, although it did help that the bar manager in the place where we stayed was absolutely drop dead gorgeous!

Yes Peggy you are right about the turtles. I believe the river was the one used in the film African Queen. Never been to Cyprus but will bear it in mind now.

I have friends who live in Cyprus.They live not far from Protaras.It is a lovely place but I think it's expensive now, I was there in the 80's when it was dirt cheap....by the way welcome home Willie

We used to stay near Protaras, at Pernera, about 20 mins walk from Protaras. There are some lovely houses around that area, I could easily live there. Have you ever stayed with your friends Lindy?

Hi Peggy,my friends live in Paralimni.We haven't stayed with them as yet even though she asks me all the time.
It's funny I went on my first holiday to Cyprus with them and their daughter fell in love with a cypriot.They said it was just a holiday romance and told her to forget about him but I used to let her phone him from my flat and 5 years later they married.There were 40 of us at the wedding which lasted 14hrs,it was fab.They now have 2 lovely boys and her mam and dad went to live there about 5 yrs ago.
