The one thing that really iritates me on this show is when a contestant calls their husband/wife/girlfriend etc. down to the table half way through the game. Why cannot they just make a decision on their own. Usually they are persuaded to DEAL and I'm sure if they just made their own decision they would be happier. Frown

I often think it adds a bit of interest when the husband/wife/girlfriend etc comes down to the table, but it annoys me too when they persuade the player to do the opposite of what they really want to do. I suppose it's just human nature to want a second opinion in those kind of situations. I'm sure most of them don't want to get an earful from their other half after the game for doing the wrong thing!

I certainly don't like it when the player asks advice from other contestants, because usually the advice is meaningless and just stating the obvious.

If you were a player scarisbeck, would you call someone down to the table or would you go it alone?

They're DOND contestants, that's why! The vetting process ensures noone gets through who might be able to think for themselves.

I completely agree though. It's very irritating.

The problem is, if a contestant does something you disagree with, does it make them wrong?

We should understand other people have opinions, and have the right to make mistakes too.

Remember what they say about the man who never made a mistake.

The only time I get irritated when a spouse is called down, is when they're asked what to do by the player and they say "it's your game, I'll support you whatever you do". They could have said that from their seat in the audience.

They say he never did anything.

{As that is the only way to avoid mistakes}

I would certainly go it alone. I'm a big girl now and can make my own decisions Smile

I remember a game when there was a young girl in the chair and her boyfriend was in the audiance. She got an offer of something like £20k and her boyfriend persuaded her to deal. She was totally inconsolable when she found out she had the £250K in her box. Wonder if he is still her boyfriend Eek

Yeah, I remember that 1! It was Donna's Game, she was offered £21,000. If she did carry on, she would have got £59,000 and then in the last round, she would have kept the biggest 2 left, and she did have the 1/4 mill in her box (Chobo, it is SO much easier using 1/4 mil, as oppose to £250,000. Thanks for that! I am copying you now Laugh )
