Hi rosebud. Nice to hear from you. Hope you get some good news healthwise shortly - I've been thinking about you even though I haven't been posting recently. I managed to get Mum a ground floor flat in Sheltered Accommodation in the village where I live and took her to have a look at it on Thursday of this week. It was quite small but, of course, there is a big common Sitting Room, Laundry (free of charge) and a communal Kitchen and also a Housing Support Office who lives in. We only had 24 hours for Mum to make her mind up as, apparently, the ground floor flats are like "gold" and don't come vacant very often. However, she rang me yesterday and said that she doesn't want to move there - prefers to stay where she is at the moment. This means a 15 mile round trip every time I go to see her and as her legs seem to be getting worse by the day, I've been having to do her shopping for her as well, and also most of her housework. Obviously, I don't want to force her to move but think the sheltered flat would have been ideal - especially as they organise Bingo and coffee mornings and she would have had some company if she wanted it and also, my husband and I living about three quarters of a mile away. I've explained to her that I won't be able to got every day, perhaps only 2/3 times a week and she appears to be happy with that. However, if her health deteriorates further, I think I may have to contact Social Services and see if they can help. As I'm an only child, there is no-one else who can help and my husband still works full-time. These things are sent to try! Enough of my problems - enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope the weather is warmer where you are than it is here in North Lincolnshire. It's absolutely bitter here today. Take care.
