Glorious again today. Going to advertise my back garden as a tourist resort.It`s a real sun trap, and people keep asking if I`m just back off holiday. All welcome, so get your bookings in now, and I`ll get the drinks and nibbles ready.

Morning everyone. Sorry I'm a bit late - been to the doctor's this morning as I've been feeling a bit off for a couple of days and I've got shingles. which has made my day!! He's given me some anti-viral tablets which, hopefully, should clear it up fairly quickly. Lovely sunny day here again today but not particularly warm yet. Hope you all have a great day and that the sun shines on you.

Hi Muggy sorry to hear that. My daughter just been on phone shae has the same problem. Hope you are soon on the mend. Nice and sunny here again with a sight breeze which suits me fine. Have a pleasant day and anyone else that pops into the forum.

Hi Muggy you poor thing, my hubby had shingles and I understand they can make you feel really miserable, hope the tablets kick in soon and you begin to feel better.

Thanks for your good wishes anne and rosebud. I'm sure I'll soon be on the mend - I'm no a quitter!! Doctor said it could be about a week until the tablets start to work. Apparently, there is no cure for shingles and in very mild cases, no medication is given. Enjoy your afternoon both of you. Beautiful here when the sun's out but a little cool when the clouds come over and there seem to be a lot of them today. Still much better than persistent rain!

Poor you Muggy. My son had them round his waist and was pretty uncomfortable. Hope you feel better soon. Does calamine help?

Awww poor Muggy I'm so sorry to hear you have shingles, I'm told they can be quite painful. I do hope they clear up quickly for you, 7 that you're not too uncomfortable Please get well soon

Sorry Muggy forgot to say hope the shingles are improving. I think it was lilypop who suggested calomine lotion my husband found it soothing, a little messy but worth it.

Morning everyone and thanks for all your good wishes. I had a very good night's sleep last night, which was a pleasant change. Still very itchy but not as painful today (perhaps the tablets are kicking in). My husband took the dog early this morning before work so I didn't have to go out as soon as I got up. I've been out with him again, before it gets too hot and, apart from feeling rather tired, I don't feel too bad. I'll survive!! Hope you all have a lovely day - weather is gorgeous here again - my son needn't have wasted his money going to Turkey with all the good weather we've had here over the past 10 days. Speak to you later - off the doctor's again for the remainder of my tablets - they only had 6 yesterday and I need 21.

I've not been on for a couple of days so I've only just noticed that you are ill Muggy, sorry for the delay but here it is anyway - hope you get better soon x

P.S I don't know what shingles is but I hope it isn't anything serious

Morning everyone. Beautiful here again today and yesterday was wall-to-wall warm sunshine. Not feeling too bad this morning but was awake most of the night due to itching and the rash was rather painful. Paid for the decent night's sleep on Thursday!! Been out with the dog for a long walk - find I'm more comfortable standing rather than sitting or laying at the moment. Hope you all have a great day and thanks again for your good wishes.

Hi Muggy, sorry you're not getting much relief,apart from calamine lotion & taking cool baths,there's not much you can do to relieve the itching.It seems to affect adults worse than children,but I hope it won't be too long 'til you're feeling more like yourself. Back to another miserable wet day here again, I knew I shouldn't have said anything about it !!!Take care & have a comfortable weekend

it has been a lovely day here today made the most of the sun as rain is forcast for tomorrow. Hope you are feeling comfortable Muggy paracetamol can help with the pain and maybe help you get some sleep.

Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better today Muggy, I have never had it, but I know it can be very painful, hopefully you are over the worst of it now.
